Fortuna Dusseldorf have completed the signing of Liverpool youngster Villyan Bijev on a season-long loan deal.
The 18-year-old American, who has Bulgarian parentage, joined the Reds in the summer but he will now spend the season in the second tier of German football.
Bijev moved to Anfield from the California Odyssey Soccer Club in early July and signed a three-year contract with Liverpool.
The teenager trained with his new team-mates on Wednesday and he is excited at the prospect of first-team football with the German club.
"Dusseldorf is a great club with a super stadium. I am looking forward to playing here and I hope that I can help my new team with goals," he told the club's official website.
The club's sporting director Wernder Wolf believes Bijev is an exciting talent, adding: "Villyan Bijev is a great talent. We want to give him the opportunity here at Dusseldorf to mature as a player."
