This isn't directed directly at you but just at the group of people who would play a 442 with Adam and Lucas.

Don't you lot think that we'd get over run in midfield by Arsenal's 3 if we played two. Especially if one of those in the middle is Adam, who's mobility and work rate isn't that great.

Would prefer to see Meireles or Henderson over Adam, simply because of their work rate and ability to get around the pitch. But I'd play 3 in the middle, match them like for like.

This will be our greatest chance of getting a win, Arsenal are a club on their knee's on the pitch at the moment and let's strike them while their weak.

Although 442 just won't work here, in my opinion.

There missing a lot of players. At least 4-5 would get into our first 11 in my opinion. Nasri, Fabregas and Wilshere are a fantastic trio who make Arsenal tick, without them, their no better then a mid table side + Van Persie.

Looking forward to the match now; expect to see Arsenal fans booing by half time

I think we've spent too long thinking about Arsenal's central midfield in games against them and we have got nothing from the majority of the games.

Let them worry about dealing with our midfield bypassing them and playing it out to the wing for a change.  One of their central midfielders will have to keep more than a close eye on Suarez just behind them in any case IMO.

Fairly good post here...and you might be right.

You make the point, "playing it (ball) out to the wing", and I agree that'll be a key tactic against Arsenal, stretch them.

But I again question if we can do that with only having two midfielders, Adam, yes he can pass when not under pressure, but I just feel with having two in the middle, they'll get most of the possession so we'll be reduced to counter attacking football. Pass the ball wide and let him go at their full backs.

I like the look of this team but is Skrtel even back in training yet?  I think Adam will start and I hope Aquilani is on the bench.

11 years is a long long time not to win away to Arsenal. We must break that duck this weekend with our first victory at the Emirates.

Hope Arsenal players will tire themselves out tomorrow against Udinese.......
Our players will be less tired, we must take advantage of that!

Good tempo from the start keep the ball on the deck and keep pressing them,they wont be fresh after a midweek match.
Think we can give them a good hiding and break the duck.

Huge game for us. I know im stating the obvious in saying that. We can't afford to go 5 points behind after two games. We have lay down a marker on Saturday and go top at 2.35pm  Arsenal are without Gervinho, Song who has been charged, they have lost Fabragas and Nasri looks like he's on his way. 

Who ever the arse bring in as replacements, they will be comfortable on the ball. Mid week game or not, they won'tb be to tired at this early stage of the season. They will also be out to  prove a point I think. We should not underestimate them but I do think we are capable of beating them at thiers at last. 0 - 2  for me, but ony if Kenny gets the tactics right. We have to match them in the middle, and also use the width. Keep the ball down and give them the runaround. If we go to defensive and expect to counter attack. We will be left hoofing the ball up from the back with no end product. Have faith, get amongst them and out pass them while they are a bit unsettled.

I'd keep same team as Sunderland, maybe Kelly for Flanagan. The first ten or so matches use the strength and enthusiasm of the newer younger players to take the sting out of the fit, fired up teams. After this start building points using the most experienced players. The second half of this year is going to be the most imoprtant for us. It is when teams drop off.

Arsenal playing a hard game against Udinese in midweek, they just lost their captain and star player, their other star player sitting it out because he is on his way to City, new signing won't be playing because he was sent off, their DM will be missing due to a ban and their 19 year old superstar is out injured...

I fancy our chances.

I,d go 4 3 3 for this one and use Hendo Lucas and Adam as our midfield 3.

I felt very confident with our game last season at Chelsea.

I feel the same going into this. No better time to play them!
