Pre Match - Arsenal vs Liverpool (PL - 20th August 2011, 12.45 pm)

Great time to play the gooners? or are they gonna adopt the attitude of backs to the wall and come out fighting?Might be tougher than we think?

Don't underestimate this Frimpong kid, he looks pretty damn good. Having said that I would be disappointed not walking away with the win this weekend, couldn't play them at any better time.

Looked on the gooners forum and they think a draw is a minimumfor them. They also dont rate our team 1 bit - amazes me to be honest. Even a weakened Arsenal I have respect for...

Really want a big win now to watch them go into meltdown...

With recent turmoil, I think this is the best chance for us to go there and win something. Arsenal is at their weak point if not weakest. But we have to be cautious as we can't expect them to go down without a fight. i can see a great game folding but we have the advantage to nick something out.

This is a statement game for each club...on the gooners side they need to prove they can pull together through adversity and show they have some spine in the club. On our side this is a game where with they're injuries we simply need to crush them and when I say crush them I mean to put our foot on the side of the head and don't let them get up.

3 points is 3 points and all of that but I am hoping to see a resounding statement made, not scurry home lucky to get the 3.

Agreed, we need to start getting results, to be a top side again, we need to be getting the 1-0 wins that would normally end up a goalless draw or into a 1-1 draw, we need to start getting a wins, i would take a gritty 1-0 win over a outstanding performance getting us 4-4. Results are more important then performances, Arsenal know that the best.

Put Downing on the right, target whoever they put in at left-back.  Clichy is gone, Gibbs and Djourou are both doubtful. We could clean up down the right.

Even so early in the season this is a huge game and could go a long way to set the tone of the next few weeks.  It it always close when we play Arsenal, and I do think we are stronger than last year while they are slightly weaker.

On the starting line up, I would not like to see too many changes from last week, but would defo like to see Kelly in ahead of Flanno.  Depending on our formation would bring Kuyt in if we play 4-4-2, or maybe leave it with Henderson moving inside with Suarez drifting right in a 4-5-1.

We need to make a statement of intent but would take a win any way.  I will go for 2-0, scoring first 15mins and then on the hour mark.

Definitely, 3 points is all that matters.  I don't care if the winner goes in off Carroll's pony tail.

 Looking forward to this match as it is a 11:45 pm kick off here which is better than getting out of bed in the middle of the night.Arsenal are there for the taking so no slacking off in the second half and 3 points please.It will be interesting to see how we line up,no doubt Kenny will have some devious scheme ready to give Arsenal the shock of their lives.

I think you are 100% correct with that time.

 This a huge game so early in the season, and I think not getting beat is a minimum for us given their turmoil. A win would make our start look look decent, anythinbg but will leave us kicking ourselves that we didn't press home our advantage against Sunderland. They are in exactly the same boar, which makes it a real six pointer. When you add in the almost certain fact that us and them will be fighting it out for a top four slot come the end of the end of the season, it's a massive game.

 I fancy us to get something out of the game, and if my life depended upon it I would go for us possibly nicking it 1-0. It wouldn't be the biggest surprise in the World if the tactic of hitting Carroll diagonally for a knockdown causes the goal either. We'll certainly do that plenty of times whether people like it or not, given their central defensive frailties we'd be crazy not to.
