Yep, same as tennis. Look how brilliant it works there.

Football isnt tennis, nor cricket nor any other sport. Different games.

How will this work if a linesman flags for offside (when it isnt) & the balls in play. Are players to be told to continue that phase of play?

Or do we not have linesmen & then once a goal goes in you look back & make a decision. Game doesnt stop till ball is dead? That of course leads to other problems

It's simple - the linesman beeps the ref to indicate he thinks the goal is offside, but doesn't raise his flag. Play continues and if a goal is scored it's reviewed.

      Rocket science it ain't.

I agree with the stop start - but plan can continue with no issues, then if nothing comes / something significent then call it back. This happens on occassion if the advantage is not won by the 'attacking' side.

With refrence to goal line tech - why not put a sensor in the ball / across the goal line that alerts the officials once the ball has crossed over.

Ref's will always make mistakes - and this season it has not been in our favour. Take Spurs, we played badly but I cant remeber more bookings given to us vs the opposition. For my money our team were treated as a 'dirty' team and the ref went out to punish anything we did.

That’s  what I eluded to about not having linesmen as such, same thing. Game is just played & then when ball is dead things are looked at. That will lead to other things, as if you are or arn’t offside you should be given so. Not being pulled up at the time means the game is entering a phase it shouldn’t/wouldn’t have done. Things might happen when really the game should have been stopped. A fight for example ;D

Anyway there will still be “mistakes/disagreements” so fans, managers & players can make excuses. Where will it end up? Prob on a computer with no one ever making any mistakes. DULL

For offsides, why not have chips in all the player's boots, that tracks where they are and the ref can easily wazz it back and see whether their feet were onside or offside at the moment the ball was kicked? Not something we desperately need, but while we are thinking of technology...

Jesus, do you no anything about Football.

If there was no offside every game would have a rugby score-line.

It's not always the feet that are offside.

I know, should have made it clearer - they would change the rule so that it was only feet that determined whether you were offside.

      Thank god! :)

      Was a WUM in fact.

If you go in the referee appraisal thread before your run your mouth or your fingers in this case, you'll see the fact that vast majority have accepted it wasn't a sending off offence. ;)

Well given that he didn't book Fellaini or send Hibbert off, we can consider ourselves hard-done by ;)

The only disrespect I felt yesterday was MOTD'S need to show the Scum play Norwich in a snooze-fest before one of the biggest derbies on the english football calendar!!
