Me too!  Especially as I had read Stephen Kings book Rats around the same time.

I actually believed Jaws was gonna come out from the toilet. Seriously.

I won't, but i think that those of us who've seen that 'children's film' know which scenes i'm referring to...

I'm with you. Side by side. The damage has been done but YNWA

Yeah seen that in Primary School. Can't remember crying at it, only remember loads of rabbits running down this hill thing, mind you I fell asleep most of the time when videos got shown in school.

Bright Eyes is a boss song though, so can't be all bad.

In answer to some of the posts on this thread.
1/ I certainly remember the alphabet that was used for the halftime scores, they were in the good old days when all the matches kicked off at 3pm on a Saturday, prior to floodlights in the middle of winter the match used to start earlier than 3pm.
2/ I remember the Dandy and the Beano used to come out on alternative weeks just after the 2nd world war, this was because of a paper shortage due to the war.In those days if you wanted to buy a comic you had to get to the newsagents pretty early in the morning or they would be all sold out.
3/I seem to recall that it used to cost a tanner to get in the boys pen when it was in Kemlyn Road,I think it went up to 9old pennies when they moved the pen to the back of the kop.\
4/ Does any body remember the milkman used to deliver the milk from a cart that the poor bugger had to pull behind him.The CO-OP and Hansons used to have little depots throughout the city and the suburbs.
5/I well remember when the government took sweets off the ration,I think it was about 1952,when it happened the price of sweets suddenly went up.
6/ A question for the Page Moss and Huyton lads, What was  Princess Drive originally called and why was the name changed.-Sorry no prizes for the correct answer.
I had better stop now or I might get charged with hogging the thread.

Fire lighters or the Echo and a shovel to get the fire started in the living room, the chandlers made a fortune on shovels and bundles of wood.I used to make my own bundles up and sell them round the streets, even collect vinegar and lemonade bottles to get the money back on them to go the baths, pictures, bowling or even the ice rink save asking me mam for the money...What ever happened to the rag man, coal man and the knife sharpener guys, all gone now except for the scrap man.

Glenbuck the clackers eh if you fcked up they gave you a right smack would be banned now under health and safety rules i think .
Anyone remember school dinners where you sat on tables of twelve the oldest/ hardest at the top dishing out if you wasn,t in the circle of friends you had all the left overs if you were wise you made friends and got up the pecking order fast, oh and semolina and jam for afters ,think it would make me sick now.
Being milk moniter in school going around handing out all them little bottles of milk ,and if there were any spares you claimed them.
Oh and this is for the real oldies on here
,Sunday night washing in the tin bath by the coal fire with mam scrubbing the fck out of you cos you had  a weeks worth of dirt to remove.
Getting up for school in the winter and all the ice was on the inside of you're windows ,oh the good old days.
And as someone else said collecting the pop bottles for the return money .
Lastly the school hols getting up and watching
       The banana splits
        Champion the wonder horse
        Robinson Crusoe
There are more but the memory has faded a bit .

Will admit to seeing grease about 7/8 times due to the fact a friend of mine,s father owned a pet shop quite close to the picture house and because he used to advertise their films he used to get free passes .

Remember light years ago on Breeze Hill in Walton standing at the bus stop with me mam and watching these steam driven trucks go by they used trundle along with their big solid wheels, think they were coming up from the docks. Used to see them all the time then they just disappeared don't know if they were all the same company think they were, would've saved some money if they were still on the go now.
They used to carry timber and all kinds of heavy cargoe they were an amazing sight to see with the smoke blowing everywhere and the fire under the engine block.

      Panini stickers.

Taking loads of swaps of no-marks from teams like Ipswich into school to swap for one Liverpool player.

and the foil crests were always boss!

Rag and bone man, ice cream delivered by a bloke on a tricycle and next door neighbour collecting horse sh*t form the milkmans horse.Hearing the crowd roar at Anfield and knowing we had scored before instant tv and radio reports. Listing to some away european games on the "wireless" hissing away like mad.Seeing sandy Brown in our newspaper shop after he had score an own goal at goodison.
