CRAIG BELLAMY and Sebastian Coates are expected to be handed first starts of the season when Liverpool go to Brighton.
Bellamy’s second stint at Anfield has so far been restricted to a pair of cameo appearances whilst Uruguayan centre-half Coates made his club debut as a first half substitute against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Tomorrow night’s third round Carling Cup tie at the Amex Stadium is also likely to see captain Steven Gerrard make his comeback after six months out and Dirk Kuyt, who sat out the disappointing 4-0 loss at Spurs, earn a recall.
Young full-backs Jon Flanagan and Jack Robinson are also anticipated to earn selection for the match against Gus Poyet’s Championship high-flyers as Kenny Dalglish’s men look for a repeat performance of their second round win over Exeter City last month.
Daniel Agger, however, remains a serious doubt for the trip to the south coast after he lasted just 27 minutes at White Hart Lane having picked up a nasty looking bang to the ribs with the club expecting to learn the full extent of his injury today.
Charlie Adam and Martin Skrtel will miss out tomorrow night (7.45pm) as they serve one-match bans having been sent off in the game against Spurs.
