The TV Series Discussion Thread

Finally got around to starting season 5 of The Shield, the first two episodes, WOW! Such a good show. 

I used to watch Frasier Diego and didn't realise it was being repeated in the mornings but after talking about it in work I started from the first one and am going to keep going.

Very funny series.

Watched the whole lot this year, a lot of times I just don't like the character of Frasier, but still enjoy the show.

Anyone been watching Last Resort?  I'm two episodes in and it's fast moving quality tv.  Looks to have a decent budget too.

Catch it if you can.  Very fast moving show.  I've read somewhere it's the same writers or director of the shield.   So I wouldn't expect anything less then quality.

Not getting the same feel for Homeland this season, not sure why

Hadn't heard of this so downloaded the first episode.  Very promising indeed.  My only problem now is the second one is taken an age, so I won't get it tonight.

Definitely.  The fans were moaning about last season being very slow and not much action.  Looks like they've took that on board to say the least.

Thought the pilot to this was the best I've seen for years.  Episodes 2 and 3 were decent but lacking the quality of the first one, then episode 4 blew me away!  Great show.  And yeah its from Shawn Ryan, the creator of The Shield, although the ratings in US aren't good so there is some cancellation talk for Last Resort.  Hope that fourth episode will drag some viewers in because it was incredible.

It's stunning TV, taking it slow with the last three seasons.  The casting on the show is brilliant.

If you like some of Shawn Ryan's stuff you should also check out The Unit as well, another show from him as I mentioned to Sabbath the other day.

Currently getting into that Vegas with Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis, like the way it's set in the 60s too!

Just Breaking Bad, Homeland and Game Of Thrones I haven't watched from that list, own the whole of 'The Shield' on DVD, still one of the best cop shows around.

Anyone watching Arrow on Sky 1? I downloaded the first three episodes, watched the first in bed last night, it was good, not great but watchable!

So my constant TV catch up continues, BSG tonight, season 4, part 1 and it's, well, OK.  Not as engaging as previous seasons, feels splintered and, at times, extremely rushed though as I watch more, it may come together, though I'm finding it harder and harder to care about any of the characters.

So much going on for me TV wise at the minute.

Walking Dead is carrying on from the great season finale from 2.

Boardwalk Empire is developing slowly with a great new character in Gyp Rosetti providing the best scenes so far.

Homeland is back and so far is as good as ever but just wondering now what direction it is going to take. I'll say no more so to avoid spoiling it for anyone still to catch up.

Still to finish Lilyhammer which has been one of may favourite's of the year and well worth a watch for anyone who has missed it.

That's not to mention I'm in the middle of Mad Men and still quite a few on my list to watch that is growing by the week

I agree, a good cast and a unique storyline so far, with Hawaii 5-0, really the only non reality tv I watch.

So random.org selected Xena Season 1 for my viewing pleasure tonight.  Lucy Lawless.  Mmmm.  It's Knightrider in 'mythical' times with more than a touch of the sapphic.
