I'm just watching the first episode of Vinyl (it's a two hour marathon!), it's pretty decent so far. Anyone else watch it?

The lead is the fella who played my favourite from Boardwalk Empire (Gyp Rosetti what a legend!)

I have it recorded Scott and looking forward to it but I'm engrossed in House Of Cards right now.

Bobby Cannavale is the guy and he was brilliant as Gyp.

Good news for House of Cards fans - the fourth series is almost upon us.  :)

Finished Sons of Anarchy penultimate season this week - it was the last one on Netflix so I'll have to download the rest. I'm a bit tired of the series to be honest but something keeps pulling me back to watch it. And I was quite shocked with the last episode I've watched!

Also watched the first season of How to Get Away with Murder recently - I think season 2 is underway at the moment.

I need to visit that thread sometime and list my favourite characters. Frank Underwood is definitely one of them. At first, I wasn't too keen on how he spoke to the camera, but as it went on, I grew to like and appreciate it.

I didn't think i was going to like it when he spoke to camera either but its become one of my favourite aspects of the show especially when he gives those little glances.

Watched the first eight episodes of the first series so far. I love those glances as well! He is by no means a guy you would ever cheer on in real life considering the stuff he does is really terrible but with him communicating to the viewer every now and then he ropes you in on his side. It's awesome how he connives and manipulates the support of the viewer in his exploits! That's what real politics is like I suppose - it'd challenge the most fiercely moral of people.

The absolute anti hero and performed to perfection by Spacey!

I like those glances too. It went from something I wasn't sure about to something I looked forward to with his camera interaction.

It's a master class in acting by a fine exponent of the art. As you say, here is a pretty despicable character who you can't help but like.

I'm really looking forward to the new series!  :tv_happy:

It was decent Si, be interesting to see where they take it. If you like your music you will like it, there's tons of different 70s sounds. Canna ale is excellent, I'm looking forward to the 2nd eps id tomorrow night.

Don't know about you, but I find you can ignore the settings and back drops for a large part. It's all about the characters

I have reached the end of Californication, about 5 weeks after I began, so that's 84 episodes in roughly 35 days. I loved it from start to finish and as I have previously mentioned, it made a welcome change from intense drama, not that I need some kind of break from that. Anyway, Californication doesn't take itself seriously and manages to provide 7 good quality seasons from a basic premises. I'm going to miss it.

Agreed; I'm zipping through the new series because of its addictive nature. It's everything I hoped it would be and more. That's about all I can say without giving anything away.

I'm almost done with Season 3 and cant wait to start 4.

Is it all there at once or week by week like Better Call Saul?

So I have finished the new series of House of Cards and I'm left with that sad, empty feeling that I always have when I have really enjoyed something.  :'(

It's been a seamless transition from series three into four and there is plenty more to be had from this show in the future - the quality of the writing is there for all to see.
