Italy for me. Balotelli will be a star player in the game and next season will be immense for City.

Hope Spain wins, Mario breaks his leg in the 89th minute and misses at least six months of the coming season.

      F**k both set of mancs!

Hoping Italy win this. They've been the team of the tournament and it would give Pirlo everything he deserves. Also their tactic awareness as ever for the Italians is spot on!   But if Spain win then it's no problem. They have shown perfectly that the best way of defending is not allowing the other team the ball. If they don't have the ball they can't score. Italy or Spain, either way football wins. Both teams have shown a masterclass in how to play tournament football.

Looking forward to a few Stella Cidre sat on my couch watching this tonight. Mainly for the fact that I won't have to watch any more of the tripe after tonight. I can't remember such a boring tournament ever, and seeing as its the only thing I've watched on tv for the past month I'm nearly suicidal!

I hope it's 5-5 after 90, 8-8 after extra time, and goes to 12-12 on penalties before someone wins.

No mate, born in 1986, I started watching football in 1998, World cup in France, first tournament for me. What were they like back in those days?

Italy won the 1982 World Cup, in Spain ironically, they were runners up in the 1970 World cup.

      Pirlo versus Xavi.

Against any other player I'd say Xavi would out-pass his opponent completely - but not Pirlo.

If it comes down to the midfield I feel Italy may edge it.

They were good. Very good. Remember Italy are slow starters in tournaments, they always struggle at group stages, but try to find some videos on them

I don't know why people say it's been a poor tournament. Like most other Euros the tournament hasn't pet us down. Much better than the dreadful World Cup 2 years ago.

      1) Can they both lose? ;D

      2) So if Spain wins, does everyone here think they are the greatest NT of all time? How do they compare to some of the football the great Brazilian sides played? What about Uruguay from the 1920s and 1930s?

Hoping this is an exciting game!

Yes, but all teams were smashed all around by the best national team to have won a WC. But they played a great tournament
Today, it will be the first time since the 1934 final where 2 goalkeepers are captains of the involved teams!

They will be the greatest team of their time. Like Brazil was in the 60s and beginning of 70s, Uruguay untill 1950, etc. Yes it may be the consolidation of an era

Honorable mention to 1954 Hungary and 1974 Holland. Brazil in 1982 was one of the best ive seen too.
