Cant believe he doesn't have a thread.

Anyway looks to me to be a super little player down the right wing. All the talk of Adjoran Suso and Sterling deserving a call to the first team I think this lad is top of the list. Great skill and pace but he has a final ball as well!!

He looks well up to the challenge physically. Looks like we have a gem here

Love the look of this lad. Silva should replace Kuyt on the bench, well either himself or Sterling. Squad needs to be shaken up a bit.

Good chance for him to shine, an immense talent and it'll be good to see how he plays in a tougher and more competitive environment.

My gripe here is Arsenal, utd would get there kids loaned to either premiership clubs or top championship we seem to loan ours out anywhere. Will he learn more there, probably learn about getting kicked thats all

Our worry is whether he will be good enough - after all he didnt make your League Cup XI last season :-)

Seriously, he wasnt on the pitch 2 minutes  (late sub) when he walked through the Wimbledon defence to set up the winning goal. He looked tricky after that but didnt feature too much more. For setting up a winning goal for a side that had won just seven league games in over a year (feels like a million years) he is already a hero. Hopefully he will start next week. Thanks Liverpool!

He was playing for our U18's last season.

Been a very good impact sub this year.
Slightly unorthodox, but a fabulous prospect.

Hope he shines for you lot and gets a loan deal to a Championship side next season.

Northampton Town sign Liverpool's Toni Silva on loan

Northampton Town have signed Liverpool winger Toni Silva on a one-month youth loan deal.

The 18-year-old made his debut for the Cobblers in the 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon , and helped create the winning goal.

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd told BBC Radio Northampton :
"At a club like ours, we've got to get youngsters before anybody knows about them."

"We don't want to get excited too soon, but he's got Premier League quality."

      He added:
"He's dribbled past two or three people and he has got a great goalscoring record."

"We'll see if we can help bolster his career and he can [boost] us up the table."

The Portuguese youth international has been playing for the Reds' under-18 and reserve sides, and can play on either the left or right flank or up front.

He had an average game for us tonight, threatening to be good without actually quite pulling it off. We extended his loan until the end of the season today which I am more than happy about. I am confident in what I have seen that we have borrowed a talented kid.

Not much else to report tonight except we have won 2 games in a week with him in the side and given ourselves a chance of avoiding THE drop. Happy times after a nightmare 12 months.

Hopefully more to report on Silva on Saturday.
