We have just won the league cup.
The only other achievements I really now this year is the FA cup and top 4.
We can push very hard for the top 4 because we are in the the Europa already so lets be aggressive and be in CL next year after the FA cup.

Nothing should be considered "beyond" this football club until its mathmatically impossible.

Our Form indicates its going to be very very difficult to get 4th now unless teams above collapse or Van Persie gets injured.
Personally if we win the FA Cup and finish 6th then its got to be a good season and a good basis to start next season.

 To be totally honest (and I know this will be controversial) I won't be overly gutted if we don't get 4th. Let me explain.

 Firstly, I've a hunch that even if we did make it we wouldn't last long. It would almost certainly hinder our push for trophies next season, and if we're in the Euopa league we can devlop some of our squad players a bit. What we need is a season of consolidation, some bedding down and hopefully a good tilt at the domestic competitions. No doubt we'd go pretty well in the Europa League, and although naturally given the choice I'd like to qualify for the Champions League, I won't be overly bothered if we don't make it.   

Um strange logic, we will be about 20 to 30 million out of pocket which could be spent on players and will probably struggle to attract the very top players. A team of Liverpools stature should be in the champions league.

I still think we can make it if the players could just start winning consecutive games 1-0. Arsenal are going to drop a lot more points with the defence and Chelsea are imploding, unless they get Benitez.

If we start winning 4-5 consecutive games and close in on Arsenal you can be sure those bottlers will get a squeaky bum.

I accept that but surely Kenny can say to them for the next few games that 1-0 wins are all we need to close the gap. We don't need loads of goals, just dirty scrappy 1-0 wins whatever the performances are like.

Put pressure on Arsenal and they collapse mentally, that is long proven.

Mate it is a good theory aint happening, we have 8 draws at home, only Wigan and I think Stoke have scored less than us.

In a normal season I'd say we'd already blown it.

But Arsenal are piss poor and could lose to anyone and Chelsea are getting worse. So whatever we have done up to now doesn't stop us still making 4th if we have the right mentality to scrap out 1-0 wins from here on in. It would be pointless to give up when you see how weak Arsenal are and knowing Chelsea are falling and still have to come to Anfield.

I'm sorry but I see this "omg keep up the hope were only X points behind with XX points in play" every season and it gets old fast. It is kinda obvious that we can get to 4th, at least maths say so. But reality says otherwise, I think it's there to see. I still hope, but 4th seems almost gone tbh.

Just saw a shocking stat, we already have dropped more points at home 19 then the last 2 seasons combined. That is Rafa last season and including the Hodgson era

I think if Kenny went with a forward line of Suarez alongside Bellamy with Kuyt on the right and Maxi on the left with Gerrard and Spearing in the middle we could win a lot of games until the end.

So, 4th place looks incredibly unlikely.

However, between now and Tuesday 13th March, we play twice, while Arsenal play once. It is possible that a week on Tuesday, we could be 4 points off 4th. Odds are against it, but you never know. Arsenal can shoot themselves in the foot from time to time, hopefully this will be one of those times. I'm not giving up on 4th place yet. Still plenty of games to go.

4th is still possible. Keep faith. YNWA 

Arsenal have Everton away and Chelsea at home in the coming few weeks.  I can see two defeats or two draws there.

If we concentrate on getting 1-0 wins we will be there or there abouts for 4th place at the end. But the team and the management have had enough time to sort out the scoring problems. It's time now to put some wins together in a row and no more talk about bad luck.

It's up to us to put a run together now.. To prove we are a good side, I think we possibly have left ourselves too much to do for forth now but just get our heads down and take every game as it comes. Pressures off us in a sense for forth now so we can sneak under the radar a little bit with the press. We still have a very winable run in and what we need to do even if we miss out on the CL is finish the season strong to finish as high as possible and for people to sit up and take notice.

It's essential for going into next season now for me that we turn the home form on its head and look to win every home game which will help push us into next season with that monkey off our back.

Then there is the FA cup... Be positive and turn Stoke over then back to Wembley.. That is still on and I'd love to win that this year and I certainly think we can.

Kenny has to make tactical changes. No more 4-4-2 plz,  we were great last season when we were playing 4-3-3 or 4-5-1. Why do we keep playing 4-4-2 while we're struggling to score with this formation. We were just great last season. Crushed ManU, Fulham, Birmingham, Wolves, etc. We have the team needed to make top 4, there are world class internationals, young good lads and experienced goal scorers(maxi, Kuyt,Bellamy). Hope there's a change soon. Plz Kenny show to the world how great you are and make us get in the CL.

In a normal season it would be but, as pointed out above, Chelsea are imploding and Di Matteo is pretty much hated by the squad, Arsenal are so reliant on RVP all it will take is for him to pick up a knock or even be marked out of a couple of games and they will drop more points.

But the point where we realistically have to give up on fourth isnt that far away. And its not about being negative - its about being smart with our plans for next season. If we miss out on Champions League whats the point of playing Carra till the end of the season just so we can get 6th instead of 7th when we already have Europa league confirmed?

The smart thing to do would be to blood Coates into the team properly so we have a reliable backup. the smart thing to do would be to try henderson in the middle unless you think Stevie will be playing more games not less as he gets older. The smart thing to do would be to give Sterling and Suso a try-out and Andy an extended run in the side so we know what we need in the transfer window.

It s not a question about negativity rather than ,aking the smart choice.
