 I would play Suarez AND Carroll, infact I would havwe played them both against Sunderland. When you aren't playing well (and judging by our last performance that's a bit of an understatement), you go back to basics. It doesn't get much more basic than big Andy up top. For some reason I always think he's on the cusp of having a blinder (Yes, I know) and tonights no different. I think he'll score twice.

 Don't see how it can be anything but with the line up to be honest. I'd actually like to see us try Gerrard on the right, but Henderson was that bad against Sunderland he'd make a nonsense of it in the middle I should think. I'm actuially surprised we didn't give Maxi a go, Henderson and Adam both deserve a spell getting splinters in their erse after the debacle the other day.

If that's the team, and I know it'll never happen, but I'd stick Hendo in the middle and Gerrard out on the right.

Be an interesting test, because if Carroll wasn't able to score from Gerrard's crosses, then he'd never make it here!

Could work, though! They'll never come flying out of the blocks, Spearing could cover the defence, letting Henderson a bit of freedom...

Glad to see Adam dropped for this game. Wasn't a fan of his performance against Sunderland, probably would have seen red if he played.

Henderson seems to play every week no matter what.

Could potentially be Carroll though the middle with Suarez and Downing at inside left and right and a midfield 3 of Spearing, Hendo and Gerrard. I'd much prefer that shape but suepct it's the one you have suggested.

I'm hoping the first part of your post appears right Scott really do, we do not have the players to play a flat 4-4-2.
