I've always wondered what the 'What Are You Doing?' thread really means as every time you post there you are actually typing a post when you post in there. Maybe it's just me being a nobhead, but i was thinking it might be a good idea to have this thread for people that have actually done something instead of doing something. Especially as i have been away from the forum for quite some time due to a new house move and my lovely little project i took on that lasted four months. If the mods feel it is not appropriate then please feel free to merge this in the other thread.
As i said, i haven't been on here for ages, been very busy. Recently moved house and while we were looking something caught my eye, a derelict shed in a back garden, it had been used by an old miner who used to build motorbikes there. The previous owner had used it as a storage shed, the minute i saw it i was filled with joy!. Some of you might remember the pictures of my old decks room in my old house which gave way to my second son! This was my chance to rebuild Hardcore Central, my heart was pounding.
My missus wasn't impressed with my enthusiasm but a man has to have his little escape from the hardships of reality. The inside was fu**ed, it had a manky old lead window with smashed glass and the ivy was coming in through the window and the roof and had spread everywhere, it was a right b***ard to get off! The previous owner was so lazy he had boarded up the paint tins and other stuff against the back wall!.
The first job was to remove the ivy, power wash the walls and paint the inside, ready for the carpet and underlay to be laid. That ivy is a right b***ard!
Then it was time to board the ceilings and insulate the roof ready for the winter ahead. I used Rockwool and OSB Boards to sort the roof out.
Once this was done it was time to remove the old window.
Make a new frame and
steal source some fire glass.
Then it was time to install it.
I then had to install stud work.
Then plaster board the walls along with insulation. Skim the joins and start painting along with frame building for the decks and wall supports for the vinyl cases to hold all my other little babies!.
As the weeks went by i installed the rest of the casings, wired all the electrics, completed the framework for the vinyls and decks and added all the finishing touches that would see the re-birth of Hardcore Central.
It's 90% done but i'm loving it!.
My babies! All 16,000 of them!. MMmmmmm!!!!
The main hub!
The sports and PS3 section, aka Sports Lounge.
Some of the hand painted murals took F***ing ages!
Hardcore Will Never Die!!!!!!!
The wheels of steel!
Radiator to save on electric heating extortion!
Wanky old bush removed from lawn and Hardcore Central gets a lick of paint to finish the rebirth.
Oh, and a new door.
So there you go. Hopefully now i'll get some time to spend back on the forum. Hope everyone is doing well and that all is good on the forum, it's been a while but i just had to get this done.
