      Not Lucas Leiva @NotLucasLeiva21

Somewhere, in a Blundellsands mansion, a Bootle-born defender is practicing his short passing. Just 9 footballs in next door's garden so far

They obviously got beat to the punch so it would be useless for them to act as if they broke it first.

      Can't see that stopping them.

Hang on here we go, they're at Anfield. SSN expecting Liverpool and Swansea reps to meet at the Premier League meeting tomorrow and finalise the details.

Reports began circulating late this afternoon that a three-year deal had been agreed but sources at Liverpool told Press Association Sport this was "categorically untrue".

      Sky latest:

Rodgers has met with owners in London.

He's now in Swansea speaking to Jenkins.

No deal signed, compensation not agreed although apparently a deal is close.

Chance for talks between Swansea and Liverpool at the Premier League meeting tomorrow.

Interesting Sky are saying nothing has been signed. Apparently there is a Premier League meeting in London tomorrow with representatives of every club going to be present. They claim a deal may be done then but nothing completed yet.

I trust BBC more than Sky, have to say.

      Seconded.

The BBC don't get stories like this wrong. Plus, the Anfield Wrap have also confirmed it, even before the BBC did. They called Jen Chang's appointment first, way before the official statement came out.

I will be genuinely amazed if Rodgers somehow isn't our new manager.

Every respectable journalist in the country has stated its a done deal, barring Sky Sports, but then again I did say respectable.

Is every contract, piece of paper and minisucle detail signed and delivered? Probably not. But Brendan Rodgers will soon be the manager of Liverpool Football club, regardless of what Sly Sports are reporting.

      Good luck to him.

Well with the press association basically stating that Liverpool have categorically denied Rodgers has signed a three year deal, once again the press are contradicting themselves.

Think I'll wait for something official before rushing out and buying my Rodgers face mask and managers jacket.

He is six years older than me Walton and there are quite a few around this age who support Everton and Arsenal as well.

I think FSG deserve credit  They have never come out and blown things all over the press ala Dave Whelan. I think Rodgers is the better manager between the two and has a confidence about him, perhaps from his Mourinho days. Think this is a good move forward for the club. He must be given the time that Kenny wasn't though and as fans we need to get behind him. He isn't Roy Hodgson!!The only reservation is when teams park the bus at Anfield, will we have enough to break them down with his possession style!

All I know about Brendans childhood and teenage years is that he played for a local Irish league club Ballymena United. He moved to Reading at 18 but I think he retired early due to injury and became their Youth manager. Then he went to Chelski with Jose. I'll try find out tho as my Dad works with his sister.

If compensation packages are to be believed we've paid about £10.5 - £11.5m to change from Kenny to Brendan so anyone questioning FSG about this must also throw that into the equation. He might well be on less wages but it will take many a year to recoup £11m
So much for the cheap deal story.
