What was it Rodgers said about the imminent arrival of Borini in summer 2012?

'The fans are really going to love him'.

Amazingly, everything he has said has been prophetic!

Brendan Rodgers wants more control over transfers if he's to sign long-term deal and build Liverpool dynasty

The Reds boss wants to extend his stay and build something big at Anfield, but needs more say over incoming players

Brendan Rodgers wants a long-term contract that will enable him to build a dynasty at Liverpool.

As revealed by Sunday Mirror Sport last week, the Kop boss will demand more control over transfer policy when he opens talks about extending a deal that expires at the end of next season. And he has also hinted that he will want a significant pay hike to recognise how he has taken the team to within touching distance of the Premier League title.

The good news for Liverpool’s fans, however, is that Rodgers is looking for a five-year deal so that he can build a lasting legacy.

Rodgers said: “I came to Liverpool because I hoped it would be a destination rather than just a stopping-off point.

“I felt the club had everything you would want as a football manager.

“It’s one of the leading clubs in the world and I want to be allowed to build and develop the club without interference.

“I have a great relationship with the owners and, hopefully, we can continue to develop the team. We’ve still got a long way to go, but I’m looking five years ahead.

“I’m looking at the expansion of the stadium – just imagine Anfield with another 20,000 supporters in it. I’m 41, I’ve got many years ahead of me – but there aren’t too many bigger than Liverpool.”

Liverpool go to Norwich today two points clear of Chelsea and six points in front of Manchester City, while Kop legend Ian Rush has told Rodgers he is four wins from Liverpool greatness.

I can see him being here for a very long time now. No matter what happens this season.

      Class act is Brendan.

I'm sure Brendan was on the phone with Fabio before this game. Steve Peters too. He leaves no stone unturned in the quest for glory.

Beat Norwich and not only will we have won 11 straight Premiership games for the first time in our history but Brendan's win % will be the best of any Liverpool manager of the Premiership era.

Looking at our bench today really did highlight what a great job he is doing. Damn sure he'd have liked to have changed things earlier but simply didn't have the options.

Back him in the summer ffs!

Was clever with his little adjustments too. Lucas went from playing on the left of the diamond to playing at the head of it after about ten minutes of the second half, we had to do something to compensate for his lack of mobility around the sides (and in fairness he did quite well there too). The Agger sub was sensible given they'd brought a second striker on and were pushing Johnson into being a third, while Moses gave us that little bit of power and presence to hold the ball.

Overall though I agree with Luke, it's incredible what a job the manager is doing. If we do win it, we will surely have the weakest SQUAD of any team who has ever won it in the modern era.

Highest win percentage of any Liverpool manager since Kenny Dalglish (first time round).

      Well in Brendan lad.

when you have Gerrard and Suarez in your team you can never say we have any weakness. We may not have 24 first teamers but lets face it we have the best team by a mile.

So that's that then - Brendan wasn't a one season specialist, though anyone who knew the Swansea situation detail would have known his achievement there was something extraordinary.

Any Man Utd fans hoping he'll be 'found out'... well, you really are clutching at straws.

So many many years have gone by since Kenny left the first time, and we have been searching high and low for THAT man to continue his success.

Ironic then isn't it that I truly believe the true successor in spirit to Kenny did follow him, though it was Kenny's second spell. This is the way it should have been when he left the first time round.

The man is here to stay. Every other team will be worried.

With Champion's league football for next season already guaranteed, and seemingly the title almost in our grasp, we at last have a truly worthy manager to lead the club forward.
