Why would Fabio have to stay to help a fluent English speaker settle in to the club?

      They are both Italian.
The only Italians at the club.

Mario speaks better English than Carra did  He doesn't seem like the type of lad who needs someone to have a shoulder to lean on. Don't think that will be any reason to keep Borini.

Personally think Fabio is risking his career if he's ignoring offers on the table. Can't see him getting much of a look in throughout the season. The odd domestic cup game here and there.

it will also serve as a lesson to anyone else who think they can f**k the club about.

Lesson to somebody who is trying to honour a contract that the club gave him?

Not sure how that works Walt.

Incredible desire to remain at the club, I have no idea where he thinks will get the playing time. And today I read that he rejected a move to QPR as well.

If he remains, hope we will see him play this season and prove his worth.

If by 4th striker you mean somebody to play in the league cup then maybe.

not sure what to say here.  I like borini and do wish we had given him a proper chance.  maybe he is looking at it and thinking.. if sturridge is injured and balotelli doesn't work out... there is a chance for him...  dunno tbh.

as others have said.. the league cup is where he might get a shot.   not sure if BR is annoyed at him behind the scenes tho but I am sure they are all professionals

Not exaggerating here, Balotelli showed more determination and goal threat in 60 minutes at weekend than Borini has done for us in god knows how many games.

I admire his determination, he might not be a very good striker but he surely has got a great character and will to prove himself at a great club, because YES, WE ARE AGAIN ONE OF THE BEST CLUBS OF EUROPE NOW! :scarf: He wants to stay and get another chance to prove himself. He has never got any attitude issues when he was here and BR made him believe in a long term project. I admire the fact that he wants to stay here to fight for his place even if it is very risky for his career. Good luck Borini, I hope you succeed and prove us wrong. ;)

We've pretty much ruined his career for the foreseeable future.

He was never good enough and never will be, and yet by bringing him in and making him the first signing under Rodgers, it really made him think he's a lot better than he is.  And he's truly awful.

A lot of us back then were wondering why, if he was so great, he kept bouncing around from club to club, why the big clubs he had been at weren't arsed that he was leaving, etc.

And then we brought him here, and now he thinks he's Liverpool quality, and turns his nose up at places like Sunderland and QPR, which are much closer to his level.  And no matter how awful he is, that is partially the club's fault---by bringing him in, they made him think that he truly was top quality.  And he bought into it, and now he thinks he's too good for the clubs that he actually should be playing at.

The reality is: we never should have brought him here in the first place.

Why do you want them gone so badly they are not first teamers or holding back any youngsters from breaking through. Might prove useful in some of the Cup competitions and besides their wages are hardly crippling.

He's not going to play.  "Fourth striker" doesn't even mean he's fourth in line in terms of plans.

      Plan A: Sturridge and Balotelli
Plan B: Sturridge as lone striker
Plan C: Balotelli as lone striker
Plan D: Lambert as lone striker
Plan E: Sterling as lone striker
      Plan F: Borini

I would be surprised if Borini even made the bench for any of our games before January, let alone got on the pitch.

What hell have you been smoking?
Borini was brought to Anfield to do a job, he is rewarded irrespective of whether he acquits himself satisfactorily or not.
To date he has failed to live up to the standard expected of him and instead of the player and/or his agent lowering their aspiration levels to correspond with actualities, they choose to pocket the reward while doing nothing to deserve it.
.......and you reckon the club has fu**ed it up for him??

The point is, we never should have signed him in the first place.  By allowing him into Liverpool Football Club we made him believe he is better than he is.  And because he now thinks so highly of himself, he turns his nose up at QPR and Sunderland.

If someone had just been straight with him 2 years ago he wouldn't have been in this situation.

we're at least equally at fault for the incessant purchasing of sh*te players that has gone on at the club for the last 5 years.  This summer we finally broke free of it.  But players like Borini, Downing, Adam etc, they were NEVER GOOD ENOUGH for us even BEFORE they signed for us.  But putting on the shirt and getting their foot in the door, makes them never want to leave.  And it ends up costing us.  In Downing's case we had to pay off the rest of his wages before he fu**ed off to West Ham.  In Borini's case we will now have to pay him for at least the next few months to do precisely sweet f**k all.

This all could have been avoided if we would have just not signed sh*te in the first place.  And before you go on about not knowing how the player will be etc before signing him, that is a bunch of bollocks.  Everyone and their mother knew that Borini lacked pace, lacked technique on the ball, lacked trickery to play on the wing in a pinch, etc.  And---wow!---for some reason he didn't magically turn into a player with pace and trickery just by signing for us.

Now take someone like Markovic.  Who knows how his career will turn out for us.  But what we can know for sure, and what was known before he signed, was that he had the tools necessary to be successful---pace, an excellent first touch, vision, and trickery.  Those are the tools to be successful.  It's up to him whether he uses them.

But someone like Borini never had the tools in the first place.

So it makes you wonder, why sign a player without those tools?

So F***ing what that Borini didn't work out for us?? Or dozens of other signings for that matter. What F***ing club in the history of football had all it's signings work out successfully for them? Your moaning about the clubs signings is beyond F***ing obnoxious. Every manager makes signings that don't live up to expectations. And it's not just over the last 5 years for us either. Rafa made loads of dud signings when in charge. So F***ing what it happens get over it FFS!
