Was asked about the situation and said that unfortunately this could be one of the situations where it's out of the player's hands and up to the owners. Also commented on Rodgers saying every player has his price but that he (Stevie) personally, wants him to stay.

Nice start to the season. Only watched the first 15 mins as had to come to work. Loved seeing Luis Suarez out there wearing that beautiful Red.

If Agger is sold because the owners want to cash in then I'll rightfully slag them for it. He looked brilliant tonight and it's obvious that he's a key part of our squad, one that can't be easily replaced.

Spot on. Typically bad things happen when owners try to intefere in sporting decisions...and I think that's the same across most any big sport.

Although I will say...while I don't think it's right that owners do this.....a lot of them do it anyway and it's not something that would be surprising to me.
