I get a bit bored on International breaks as you can probably tell I'm just walking my young un when I got to thinking about weather Pepe can get back to his best and then onto who is the best keeper I've seen during my personal days of supporting the club..Now we have a great mix of ages on here so this should vary a bit so I was wondering what's peoples best 11 (plus 7 subs) that they have watched...Justify if you feel you need or just put the players down..Mine would be ( probably)ReinaNicolCarraHansenHyypiaAlonsoGerrardBarnesDalglishRushFowlerGrobelaarAggerJonesHammanMcmanaman BeardsleyTorresIt's actually very tough to name just a select few but those I have special memories of.Too many good ones left out though.Yours? Will be interesting across the ages.I left out some great players that I've seen plenty of on tape but only counted ones I have watched either live or tv... Which is about 84 onwards.
Decent team. No way Reina would get in for me. He is not even in the top 3. Good bit of fun this though and its very difficult to pick!ClemenceNealHansenHyypiaNicolBarnesSounessMcMahonGerrardDalglishRushSubsGrobelaarLawrensonRob JonesWhelanMcManamanBeardsleyFowler
What no Emlyn Hughes or Ray Kennedy,I had better stop now as there are so many greats I could name,Billy Liddell Roger Hunt just to whet the appetite.
Ray Clemence-Phil Neal-Gerry Byrne-Ray Kennedy- Alan Hansen-Emlyn Hughes-Billy Liddell-Roger Hunt-Ian Rush -Kenny Dalglish=Steve Heighway/John Barnes,Subs-Tommy Lawrence-Chris Lawler-Barney Rubble= Bob Paisley Peter Thompson- Ian StJohn- Albert Stubbins. I have done this in a rush and with time would probably come up with a different set of players though the great Billy Liddell would always be first on my team sheet.
Agree (especially about Sir Billy Liddell) except for Phil Neal and Heighway. I would put Chris Lawler before Neal and Peter Thompson before Heighway.
One of my favourite left halves was Willie Stevenson,he replaced Tommy Leishman in the team and what a difference he made,he signed for us in October 1962 and I reckon that signing enabled us to win the league in 1964.With his passing ability he would have fitted in with Brendan Rodgers style of play withy no problem. As a club we were so blessed with class midfielders in the 1960s,70s, and 80s it makes it difficult to pick the best,
ClemenceNicol, Hansen, Hughes, CarragherGerrard, Barnes, Liddell, SounessDalglish, RushSoo hard to leave the likes of Fowler, St.John, Kennedy, Hyypia, Elisha Scott, Grobelaar etc.
Bloody hell mate, you must be the oldest poster on this forum if you saw Elisha Scott play!
Left Back is the one that was killing me - I put Stevie Nicol in but I really feel he's best at right back. Any supporters with recommendations pre 80's would be appreciated
It's very tough but I personally had to get Carra in so he played left back (circa 01) with Nicol right back... He was a truly wonderful full back.
Interesting and got me thinking - both men played pretty much wherever asked defence and midfield

I am surprised you put Kevin Keegan in ahead of Kenny Dalglish, got to be careful using initials.
Was meant to be King Kenny
We've done this before and I'm sure my team was different and, most likely, it'll be different if I was to do it again. I've left out so many greats and even had to miss out on two of my personal favourites (Joey Jones and Jimmy Case) in the quest for the best 'team' I've had the great fortune to have seen up close and personal. Anyhows... an attack minded 4-3-3:
Apologies if this has been done before, as i said i get bored during international breaksMy bad

So many awsome players to choose from. Liddle was immense as well by all accounts.
Grobbelaar (perhaps not the best but I'd be lying if I said I saw Clemence live)R.JonesHansenHyypiaNicolGerrardMolbySounessBarnesDalglishRushSubs:ReinaLawrensonRob JonesMcMahonAlonsoBeardsleyFowlerPretty awsome bench, haha.
