Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has urged Petr Cech to steer clear of Liverpool.
Cech, 32, has been at Chelsea since 2004, winning a huge number of trophies. During his time at Stamford Bridge, the towering goalkeeper has won three Premier League titles, One Champions League, One Europa League, four FA Cups and two League Cups.
Furthermore, since arriving at the club ten years ago, Cech has been the undisputed number one at Stamford Bridge. However, following the development and rise of Thibaut Courtois, the legendary goalkeeper has lost his place as Chelsea’s number one.
Cech has been linked with a number of clubs, following his demotion to the bench, but Liverpool have been linked to the Champions League winner.
Cundy has told IBTimes that Cech should keep away from Anfield: “ Liverpool are also in the market for a keeper, because Mignolet’s simply not up to it. But if I was Cech I wouldn’t go anywhere near Anfield; Suarez has gone, Gerrard is aging and the team has taken several steps backwards this season.”
Liverpool have struggled from back to front this season. At the back, Simon Mignolet has looked uncertain, while the whole back four looks vulnerable. Furthermore, going forward, the Red have struggled to score goals this term.
