Why on earth would you sell him in the first place then?? And stop making it sound like we're giving other players a chance by doing so. We all know damn well that this would mean playing Firmino, Salah, and Mane in every single game until one of them is injured. Wouldn't be surprised if their forms start dropping towards the end of the season.
Now we have to rely on Danny Ings and Solanke as the other attacking options for the rest of the season. FFS.

That’s not the point though is it, the point was they have apparently significantly improved their squads. How have they done that exactly is what I’m asking.

Point is we've weakened ours and not replaced

They're in a better position than us now

That isn’t them significantly improving their team though is it, which was my point. I’m not asking about our squad in any way, shape or form, just simply how City and Spurs and Chelsea have apparently significantly improved their teams. What aren’t you getting with this mate?

      I get that

But who's in a better position coming out of January?
Anyway city are signing that cb.

The question shouldn't be have they improved but who is stronger coming out of the window?
We've taken two further steps behind them this month

So yes I agree with your question apart from maybe city

Do you agree with mine mate?

I agree with you completely mate, not disputing that we are weaker in the slightest. I just don’t get how they have significantly improved player recruiting wise. But yes, in terms of coming out of January stronger you are bang on.

City - kept all key players and about to sign a highly rated centre back
United -kept all key players and signed one of the best attackers in the league
Arsenal - lost a key player yes (but let's be honest their hands were a lot more tied than ours) but demanded a player as part of the deal and now looking to sign a top forward
Chelsea - maybe no top additions yet but not sold anyone, improved squad depth with Barkley and that Roma lad and still in the market for a striker.
Spurs - kept all their main players and about to sign a forward

You can argue about whether they've 'significantly' strengthened if you wish but when you type it up like that surely it's clear to see. Only one other top 6 team sold a top player (but they've gone out and signed two to directly replace him). We did well with the Van Dijk deal but threw the hard work away when we sold our most talented player without a replacement lined up and to top it off we're about to let our second best striker go out on loan.

As someone said earlier, amateur hour yet again at Liverpool.

      And ain’t that the truth!?

Other teams don’t necessarily have to strengthen significantly, because we’re coming out of the window weaker. Not hard to work out at all...

Arsenal have lost walcot and sanchez and so far signed no one other than someone who couldnt get in utds squad.

Even if they sign Auba (an over rated, over priced player with an obvious attitude problem which is way Klopp, someone who has managed him before, hasnt considered him) i wouldnt say they are stronger.

Thats a really good signing, scares me a bit. Think I was debating about him in a thread awhile ago. I wanted us to sign him, and don't remember who didn't. His stats are not there but he is a good signing imo. Trickery, bit pace and a good shot.
With players like him, you either hit jackpot or you sell them with a loss. Wish that we took that chance with Lucas. Been a admirer of him.

Looks like Lazar is off to Swansea.
Still feel that he never got a chance under klopp. Surely he can’t be that bad? Yet another signing for an exuberant price that failed or was never given a proper chance.

Bad signing all around, considering we spent £20 - 25 million on Lallana, I honestly don't think we needed Lazar and was a waste of £20 million.

Call it what you will, it'd be a good move for the remainder of the season. He has scored goals for us in the past.

But not hearing any mention of it so....doubt it.

We should of lobbed a bid in for N'Gog before he went to Ross County, that wouldn't have cost us much
