      Question:

If he's so great, why is Reading the only other team in for him?

Ince is supposedly a young, up and coming prospect who could be a world beater.  And yet we're the only ones in for him.  Gerrard is nearing the end of his career, is on high wages, and has been consistent at best over the last couple of years.

in that case, i didnt saw much compition for zaha either..

Arsenal, Newcastle were interested, just to name a couple....

I mean, at 6 million every single big club in the world must want him, right?....

Think most Prem clubs believe he is most likely to join us again so aren't even bothering.

And just because there are no stories about other teams being interested doesn't mean that's the case.. We all know that.

Actually there have been stories about United and Spurs interested in Ince in the past...

It's alright not to rate a transfer target, but the lazy reasoning is unnecessary...

Can you imagine BR starting Borini up front with Ince in the hole?

Actually I think we should give Borini a shot through the middle.  He himself has said it's his best position.  He doesn't have the pace, skill, creativity or technical ability to play on the wings, and when we play him out there he just tends to wander into the middle anyway, leaving us exposed on the flanks.  I say we try him through the middle a few times, see what happens.  We have to stop buying players and then playing them out of position, it's not good for them, it's not good for us.  Suarez can play either through the middle or coming in from the sides (as he did at Ajax).  Let Borini go through the middle, and see if he starts slotting them in.  Couldn't hurt.

With the contract situation we have an advantage over other clubs whereas they will need to pay a couple of mill more than us to land him - that along with him saying he wants to come back has probably been enough to stop other clubs going public with any potential interest (doesn't mean they haven't asked)

I'm confused by his contract.  I understand it is two years, with an optional extra year?  So, is it the case that, if he doesn't want to sign a further year, he is available on a free this summer?  Blackpool seem very casual on this, as if they are holding a good hand with Ince.  Surely they aren't in a financial position to turn down seven million and let him go on a free in a few months?  Can anybody enlighten me on that one?

Definitely a ploy by them for whatever reason. They have no real chance of promotion so why risk losing out on money for Ince?
