Sturridge won't be sold, not because we want him but because he's under contract for quite some time yet and nobody else will want an injury ridden player. According to papers he gets 150k a week until October 2019. Who is going to offer better than this to Sturridge? If we get rid we would have to pay compensation. This is what will happen, he will play for us until his contract runs out which could be few and far between games. I see that being Sturridge retiring from football since he will be 31 when his contract runs out. It is in out interest to get on with it, get behind our player as he is fantastic when he does play. Selling him won't be an option regardless how frustrating these injuries are.

This is why Fergie got it right, he would never have allowed this bullshit. We don't have the money that other clubs do, because we F***ing waste it....we are getting better, but we have made mistakes that would have killed off most other clubs....

      Ouch!

If that isn't out of context that's a massive slap in the face for Studge.

Jürgen is spot on here. It must surely be impossible for a human being to get injured and for it to be serious as often as Danny Sturridge does. Nobodies asking him to play with a broken leg, but if his foot hurts a bit take a f****** Nurofen or something and get out there son.

Couldn't agree more Mick, as I've suggested above I'm starting to think it's a mental problem.

Such a disappointment but he's fast running out of time, patience and good will.

All well and good Muck but a lot of analgesics/painkillers etc are on banned substances lists for athletes.  Elite sports people can't just take medicines like we do.

Oh dear. The press headlines are not going to be good on Sturridge this time round. By all accounts it seems like this latest one is a complete joke. Fed up.

Have to admit Ferguson would not have stood for this crap.
When he had his own sick joke in taking Owen on board ... and Owen was sick enough to do it ..... he still was business enough to turn him out on a play and pay.

The money we have wasted on duds and bad contracts (ie Cole) is f**king frightening even though some of it can be written off on accounting swerves.

Sturridge's list of injuries prior to coming to us are on the internet ... in the public domain ... for all to see.

Get the f**k some sanity back into the club.

Just remember a couple of days before the Everton game, Rodgers was talking of yet rebuilding again ..... as if £300 million in three years wasn't enough.

The way this team are now starting to play under the management of the Jürgen Meister , all it needs is a three player new spine and we could be beating all before us .

Phil Neal played 417 games in a row. Was he injured, of course he was,did he play in pain, definitely but he wanted to play and he said they would patch him up and send him out to play. Now that is a strong mentality.
Maybe we are doing Daniel an injustice but look at the games he has played in his career is he injury prone or does he not have enough fight in him?

Unless I see a player on crutches they are not really injured!! :-) In all seriousness the Sturridge saga is getting very tedious now, lets get him fit, wrap him in cotton wool and sell him to the highest bidder.

The List Of Injuries before this latest one ...

      February 2013 (1)

The striker suffers a dead leg in the 2-2 draw against Manchester City at the start of the month.

What they said: "He is available to play for England due to the injury he's picked up,” says Mike Marsh.

      Games affected: West Brom (H)
      February 2013 (2)

Sturridge returns for the game against Swansea towards the end of the month and puts in a good performance as the Reds win 5-0. His joy is short-lived, however, as an undetermined knock keeps him out once more.

What they said: "Daniel has had a little knock, but we'll assess the in the next day or so and we'll see how he is for the weekend,” said Rodgers.

      Games affected: Wigan (A)
      May 2013

The striker is substituted after 33 minutes in England's friendly against Ireland at Wembley. His injury is later confirmed as ankle ligament damage but he misses no games for the Reds and is back for pre-season.

What they said: "He hadn't played for a while and was carrying a slight injury. I fear it will keep him out for a few weeks,” said Hodgson.
      September 2013

After a strong start to the season with the Reds, scoring three winners in three 1-0 wins, he misses England's games with Moldova and Ukraine with a thigh injury - but doesn't miss any time for the Reds.

What they said: “Daniel Sturridge will not return to the England squad ahead of the World Cup qualifier with Ukraine on Tuesday,” a statement from the Football Association confirmed.
      November 2013 (1)

Sturridge angers Rodgers by playing through the pain barrier of a thigh injury for England against Germany the week before the Merseyside derby. "I am raring to go, the pain is not too bad," Sturridge said, but was still dropped to the bench for the trip to Everton. He would come off the bench and score a late equaliser.

What they said: "I am looking at him in training on Friday and he is not right. Whose responsibility is that? It is the [Football] Association and the player,” said Rodgers.

      Games affected: Everton (A)
      November 2013 (2)

Less than a week after the thrilling 3-3 draw with the Blues, Sturridge is ruled out for two months following damage to his ankle ligaments.

What they said: "Daniel has been outstanding for us since he has come in. It is a bad period of time to lose him for,” said Rodgers.

      Games affected: Hull (A) - Norwich (H) - West Ham (H) - Tottenham (A) - Cardiff (H) - Manchester City (A) - Chelsea (A) - Hull (H) - Oldham (H)
      April 2014

Liverpool's relentless march towards the title is threatened as Sturridge limps off in the second half of their 3-2 win over Manchester City with a hamstring injury. He completely misses the following week's game against Norwich and can only be used as a second-half substitute against Chelsea.

What they said: “He felt a wee bit of tightness in his hamstring, so we’ll just see how that is in the next couple of days,” said the Reds boss.

      Games affected: Norwich (A) - Chelsea (H)
      July 2014

Sturridge is forced to leave Liverpool's tour of the US before the Champions Cup final against Manchester United after minor hamstring injury but was back for the start of the season.

What they said: "He wasn't going to be ready for the game on Monday - but there's no concern there, he'll be ready for Borussia Dortmund at the weekend," said Rodgers. "It was just best to get him back early, back to the training ground so he could get some treatment there. He had a really, really slight feeling in his hamstring. It's nothing major."
      September 2014

After three league games in 2014/15, Sturridge is ruled out for a couple of months after hurting his thigh during training with England.

What they said: "Heartbroken soul right now," Sturridge tweeted. "Nothing worse than being injured. Hopefully be back soon fighting fit for LFC."

      Games affected: Aston Villa (H) - Ludogorets (H) - West Ham (A) - Middlesbrough (H) - Everton (H) - Basel (A) - West Brom (H)
      October 2014

The striker's return is anticipated to come away to Queens Park Rangers - but he suffers a setback in training beforehand after feeling discomfort in his calf.

What they said: "Daniel has pulled his calf," said Rodgers. "He's looking at being out for another two to four weeks. It's a big blow as we were looking forward to welcoming Daniel back. He has worked tirelessly."

      Games affected: QPR (A) - Real (H) - Hull (H) - Swansea (H) - Newcastle (A) - Real Madrid (A) - Chelsea (H)
      November 2014

The injury nightmare continues for Sturridge with a second setback in as many months. This time, the no.15 was expected to be back for Crystal Palace - but another thigh injury will see him miss at least the next 12 games.

      Games affected (scheduled): Crystal Palace (A) - Ludogorets (A) - Stoke (H) - Leicester (A) - Sunderland (H) - Basle (H) - Manchester United (A) - Bournemouth (A) - Arsenal (H) - Burnley (A) - Swansea (H) - Leicester (H)

The wimpshit comments of Rodgers and Sturridge makes you want to put your fingers down your throat.

      Especially :

"Heartbroken Soul right now "  Sturridge tweeted.

I'm starting to think that Sturridge does not have the determination and has not since he signed the 5 year contract for 150k a week back in October. We need to start putting clauses in contracts to give players the actually SSP if they are off this long. If a player is determined they go through the steps to recover weather it is physio or the gym... etc..... I'd like to see how Sturridge recovers.....from the amount of injuries it must be something like pogo sticks in an ice arena.

I don't think he is injured in the true sense, here's what Gerrard said last night and It's not the first time Gerrard has mentioned Daniels refusal to play.

"Daniel needs to learn there's a difference between being in pain and being injured. Most of use are playing through some sort of pain every time we step on the pitch"

He can't storm into Jürgen's office and do sh*t, the lad's earning big money for doing nothing. His agent should be kissing the club's arse.

Klopp isn't going to remain patient with Sturridge for long, it's been going on far too long and since Klopp took over he was meant to make a comeback 2 or 3 times now but got injured at the last minute. If he hasn't sorted his injury problems out soon then he will be sold in the summer, last chance saloon for him IMO where Klopp is concerned.

massive talent, but no-one is going to pay big money for a player, that is so injury prone, just hope he can get a good number of games under his belt, but it is a fine line,if he say's he has a niggle, and we play him, that niggle could become a more serious injury,so we just have to trust the medics on that one,and the advice they are giving Jürgen, but for him to come out and say that,i am guessing that the medics this time, have said it is just a knock, and nothing more,he is fit to play.
