Doesn't come across that well on YouTube but that's kind of the point of the OP I suppose.
I saw
Faith No More at that venue, in that year so I'm assuming this was recorded that night. One of my first "proper" gigs and still one of the greatest I've been to.
For those that know their music, just picture us stood there in the dark as a dim, red light on the stage gets steadily brighter, revealing Mike Patton stood there in his formal suit, holding a weird little keyboard with a pipe into his mouth. As the cheers died down, he played Midnight Cowboy and just as it ended and faded out, the rest of the lights came on and they blasted into Collision! Absolutely epic (no pun intended).
Anyway, I think this was about the third song in:
Faith No More - Midlife Crisis [Live 1997]Saw
Deftones around the same time, possibly early the following year (98) when they weren't exactly a big name over here. Again, I was blown away and this song in particular stayed in my head for a long time:
Deftones - Be quiet and drive (far away) (Live @ Recovery TV 1998)
