Everyone played their part tonight....proud of all of them.

The better team by far imo over the 2 games went out. We did not lose it tonight. We lost it with bad finishing and 3 crazy minutes last week.

Am i correct in that they only had one booking? They did nothing but foul and hold all night and were allowed to get away with it. Clear penalty as well right in front of the referee. The referee had a poor night for me.

I would like to think it is a long long term Manager who is learning making mistakes ? I don't know if L F C can accommodate a learning but potentially excellent manager. sh*te we have heard the word POTENTIAL  too many times this season.

Enrique was a F***ing beast tonight and my MOTM. Excellent display.

I'm not the greatest fan of Allen but when he scored a goal with burning passion why sub him for Shelvey and Shelvey, not sure what was his contribution. Assaidi did well. If we had Coutinho on the pitch, we'd have murdered Zenit's defence. Our positioning of players inside their box is still very poor, knowing too well our crosses won't go pass the first opposition player, I'd expect at least one player inside the box to attack their near post.

im no fitness expert but maybe boss made changes because some of our players were knackerd. we played pressing game from the get go and with high intesity. it make sense to make attacking changes.

however, I hate the way Brendan has got us defending. It seems Pepe is no longer allowed to launch it out or those long throws he used to do. we seem to pass it around in the box for about 20 passes before moving it up the pitch. frustrates me.

overall though it was a good good performance.

The lads put it all out there tonight and just fell short ,the starting eleven i mean , as for the timing of the subs its the same for me couldn,t get my head around it ,couldn,t have asked any more of the fans or players tonight just wasn,t to be .dissapointed our season is over as for winning things .

We really need an air threat at the moment. We had like 50 corners and 25 free kicks there. It's not going to be Carroll anymore, so it has to be a CB. Agger is not that good a header. I've said it a lotta times but I really miss the big greek, he used to make all kinds of mess happen in the box.

Would just add that even though we went out on Carra,s mistake in no way do i hold it against him ,he has saved us more times than he has cost us and didn,t deserve to have his last european adventure punctured by that mistake ,unlucky son.

Far too ponderous with our crosses especially Johnson.....so frustrating tonight....tried to beat a man and allows them to get back. Just get it in!

I understand where you are coming from but we did not go out on his mistake. We lost it last week. He was unlucky. It was just one of those things. We seem to get punished for every mistake we make.

Great effort all round tonight, thought the crowd was fantastic as well and really egged the players on.  After that 3rd goal went in I thought the momentum would see us score a 4th or 5th goal but the substitutions definitely stunted that a bit.  I don't particularly rate Henderson or Allen but feel they offer so much more than Shelvey so that was an odd one for me.

Glen Johnson had a bit of a stinker as well - its as if his brain isn't in tune with his feet sometimes.  Very poor.

Other than that thought we were brilliant.  Enrique and Downing caused them all sorts of problems, and of course you can't run out of superlatives for Luis Suarez.  He sure made up a fair bit for those misses in Russia.

So many crosses into the  box but no game plan how to make best use of it. If we had big Andy around it would have been useful. The passes were great at times but we need to do it inside the opponent box.

Maybe, but probably not in my opinion. We need people who can get into those kind of positions and anticipate. Sturridge does it very very well, for example. Shame he and Coutinho were cup-tied.
