      Thoughts on the game:

      Everton were sh*t

      Liverpool were sh*t

      The referee was sh*t

      The atmosphere was sh*t

Both teams seemed to enter the game with a small team mindset of not wanting to lose tbh.

      Sh*t!

Disagree on the ref. Thought he had a fairly good game.

Also, only 10 pages for the Merseyside Derby here?!

      Snore draw.

The 2 full back had shockers, especially Enrique going forward. Found it weird that our subs changed the tactics to suit them.

Hendo shouldn't have been taken off.

      Gerrard was very good.

      Very poor team performance

Reina - not asked to do much, but did it when called upon
Enrique - tidy first half, terrible second half when asked to push forward more
Agger - Good, just wish he'd be more accurate from corners - but he's a defender not a goal scorer
Johnson -  That's one too many poor displays now
Gerrard - motm says it all, some beautiful cross field passes
Lucas - can't say I saw much of him, so can't comment
Henderson - he was ok, not terrible, but then, not great either. Hard working but no end product
Coutinho - our build up play was always going to come from either Gerrard or Coutinho. Went missing for large parts of the game, but he'll learn to alleviate that
Downing - leave, please, just go away. Anyone can dress up in a kit and walk around the pitch - I'd do it for £500 a week
Sturridge - I was slated for saying this last game and I'll say it again; massive attitude problem, massive ego, very selfish. So much for the gaffer saying we need to find players with 'the right mentality'. Baffles me this one. Sturridge can be brilliant, but he's got a lot of growing up to do
Borini - if only we can translate this boy's effort and drive into Sturridge. Still sure Borini will be a tidy little player for us but needs to play more
Skrtel - what little he did do, he did well enough

I think Coutinho and a player like Borini are tailor made for each other. Whereas Sturridge and Suarez like to bring the ball from deep and run at defenders (thus nullifying Coutinho's passing contribution), Borini likes to run onto those passes from midfield. He doesn't create his own goals, he scores them from other players' passes

But all in al, a drab, aimless, game that should have been full of blood guts and thunder

Interesting point. That could be something to play with in the last two fixtures.

We were really F***ing wasteful and gave the ball away it seemed out of pure disinterest, Sturridge has had better days, Enrique and Johnson need a kick up the arse.
Dead lucky to get that disallowed decision.

      Indeed.

Did you hear his frustration about Luis goal being disallowed earlier in the season not even bening mentioned?

Yeah mate "Jesus Christ" I think was the quote, awesome, going to be sorely missed. Must admit I never thought his playing performances would be missed as much as I think they will be at the start of this season.

I understand him or any manager not wanting to publicly slag a player's performance, but in this case I think he's gone over the top.

If that's outstanding, I'm coming out of retirement at 44 years of age

      Agree mate.

Defending a player is one thing but there really is no need to blow smoke up as players arse when they haven't been that good.

Still away in Amsterdam after a meeting last week, was planning on catching the game in a pub down the road but Ajax just won the title this lunchtime and I ended up going out with them :D

Seems like I made the right decision! Only Gerrard put in a par performance then? Shame we weren't interested, really thought we would have given it a good go on the back of a 6-0 win. Just wanting the season to end now.

Rush quoted it so maybe he can clear it up as I don't hink it's fair to post stuff the boss didn't see which then provokes a negative reaction among us.

Not sure what that's a reflection on, bank holiday weekend with nice weather or the little importance of the match in the bigger picture or the fans disinterested in general as the season draws to a close with nothing to play for.

Still like you say, it is a surprise that so little has been said about the match.

Yes, agreed, unfortunately you are wrong on both accounts.

Firstly, I've defended and supported the gaffer to the hilt, and have no reason to stop, so I am not in any way sticking the knife in', and secondly, yes, he did in fact say those exact words.

It's in quotes because he said it
