If it were only Balo that struggled, I would agree and question the player, but we both know that wasn't the case
Aspas struggled too and that, going by your logic, is probably down to Brendan's inability to get the best out of him. If we accept then that it's down to the manager and not really the player's ability or lack of it will be safe to assume that, should Brendan be sacked, you'd be happy to see both Balotelli and Aspas back in our attack next season [along with Borini and Lambert no doubt].
FYI, I was against Balo joining us
Why is that mate?
Is it because you, like me, recognised he has never been prolific from open play, has always been a disruptive influence and has always upset the team dynamic at every club he's played for? Or... was it because you thought he's a great striker but Brendan won't be able to get the best out of him?
This rewriting of 'history' that paints Mario Balotelli as some sort of hard done by hero is nothing but pure, unadulterated sh*te.
He was bought in a last minute, desperate, act, to try to save face by ensuring we didn't end, yet another Summer, under FSG, without a 'name' striker, after having moved one on. He was bought because he was deemed "value for money"; was labelled "worth a gamble at the price" and because he took a pay cut - nothing else.
Well guess what - those who openly and honestly didn't want him here [for the real reasons, outlined above] were right... irrespective of the revisionist bull-sh*t.
Aspas is the same - bought because he was "value for money", easy to pay and "worth a risk" but he was never good enough... regardless of who was/is Liverpool F.C. manager.
I know we are all hurting but listen to yourselves FFS. The whole notion that we should expect any Liverpool manager to work with, at best, average or 'future potential' players, to turn them into winners and call him a failure when he can't is absolutely ludicrous.
You really want a winning team Reds? Demand FSG pay wages which will attract top quality players so that the manager [whoever the F**k that might be] has a fighting chance.
