Well City have already shown a route around FFP, through their ridiculous sponsorship of their stadium, with absolutely no objection from UEFA. Until UEFA actually start enforcing it then I'm going to be very sceptical of it. Clubs have far too much power to be dictated to IMO.

Don't mean to sound patronising, but if you're interested in your football finances and the perils of spending too much, then you should read up on the collapse of Leeds Utd if you haven't already. It's quite interesting (if slightly sad) to see how even a historically big English club like Leeds were able to get into such a state.

Hate to say it but there is only one place that Premier League trophy is going next season and that is back to Citeh; Fernandinho, Navas, Jovetic and Negredo all playing for them next season. Add them to Aguero, Silva and Yaya Toure, that is one hell of a team! Just soul destroying that if Rafa had his way we would have had Aguero, Silva and Jovetic!

I think the sad fact of the matter is that we still have a problem luring "some" players to the club because of lack of Champion's League football.

Jovetic was on his way when we missed out on CL football but the old Yanks said no to funding it.

So many ifs and buts about what our starting line up could of been with just a little more backing. Depressing to think about the likes of Alves, Aguero, Silva, etc. on top of Jovetic.

But it seems that's precisely what Barcelona have gone and done with their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain's Thiago Silva. PSG are furious and have told Barcelona that if they don't back off, they will go for the nuclear option and meet Lionel Messi's £215m release clause, before moving Sagrada Familia and Las Ramblas to Paris. How do you like them apples, Barça!

I just saw this.  I am hoping it isn't a sign they are letting bale go for 70+ million.  Bale is overated and overpriced. He is probably worth half that figure.  If spurs sold him they would have a lot of financial muscle. Hopefully he will stay at Spurs.
