Andriy Yarmolenko (Dynamo Kiev)

Apparently Madrid and Milan were showing heavy interest in signing this lad, and we've been linked with him as well.  Left winger, with size, pace, a good cross, and, as per the obligatory YouTube video below, some of the most ridiculous technical skills you'll ever see.

Not only obviously gifted technically, he is also a very committed lad. Known for his work ethic on the pitch. I really enjoy watching him play on the few occasions I have.

Might be a player we could sign for a fair price considering where he plays and he's not a massive name abroad.

I like what I've seen of him, and remember someone here raving about Yarmolenko not long ago - can't remember who it was though.

My knowledge of him goes as far as watching the Ukranian National Team in the Euro last year, but he looked very dangerous every time I saw him and I believe I even wrote in last year's transfer thread that he's a player we should be looking at either on here or somewhere else maybe.

Would love to have him here and if he's consistently like what I saw him then he'll improve our first team immediately. Probably at a low cost too. So yes please.

But are there any concrete links or just another attempt to build hope and make me think we're being ambitious just to have that all shatter and make me come to the realization that it unfortunately seems like we're going nowhere in a hurry?

Yeah, odds don't mean much.  Bookies will sometimes slash odds to try to get people to bet on what they see as a "sure thing" when the truth is that betting would be suspended on this transfer if it was indeed a sure thing....

That's where my knowledge of him (all that I've seen first-hand anyhow) begins and ends. I knew that we'd been linked with him and took note of him play. However unlike your good self, A_R, I was left underwhelmed. He's got to be better than what he showed then, in my opinion.

Ian Ayre is a sly old dog....beavering away and pulling off a deal when we least expect it.

A versatile attacker who can play across the front three. Seems to fit in. Actually has some goals to his game, unlike Willian.
