First of all, I love the optimism on here, but we have to be a bit more realistic. When you set mental targets you will not meet them and that will result in a bad run of form as players, fans and the manager will beat them selfs up.

Arsenal V Liverpool  - We can win this, but would take a draw. They are top of the pile and playing good football. An away win is never a formality at Arsenal. 1 Point
Liverpool V Fulham - Fulham look to be improving, but at home we should have too much for them. 3 points
Everton V Liverpool - Derby day, fave of the season. They are playing well and its never easy. 1 Point
Hull V Liverpool - Must win game, cant drop points here and we shoulnt. 3 Points
Liverpool V Norwich - Another win needed. Suarez hatrick. 3 Points
Liverpool V West Ham - Hate playing big Sam's teams but we should be able to power through. 3 Points
Tottenham V Liverpool - Spurs have been a bogey team over the last 4 years. Cant see us getting a lot here. 0 Points
Liverpool V Cardiff - Should roll these over and no reason to think we wont. 3 Points
Man City V Liverpool - Away at City is no walk in the park. They look a bit rough, but its 9 games away... 0 Points
Chelsea V Liverpool - As above, I cant see us rolling the Chavs. Bad end to a tough month... 0 Points

Now, a bit negative to be honest... But after the Chelsea game it will be the half way point in the season. We would be on 37 Points - play the same way and we finish on 74 points.

In the 08 - 09 season that would have been enough, and every season past then for the Top 4. We then have to face Arsenal, Spurs, City and Chelsea at home in the second half of the season. This gives us a great advantage as we will take points off our rivals.
Thats a realistic target then hopefully get one or two players in Jan and push on from there, put it this way were in a much stronger position than the Mancs and City for 4th Spot. And  hopfully we win at home to fulham the same weekend Arsenal loose to the mancs meaning we can push ahead.

That's roughly what I was thinking. I'd expect us to do well in the second half of the season though as all our games against rivals bar united are at home.

Maybe its a good thing then we get all these so called tough games back to back and away as 2nd half when we are stronger we will have to play them at home which is an advantage to us. Fingers crossed we send out a message this weekend and come away with 3 points.

Expect to get 19 points from those 10 games.

That is a serious set of fixtures. To be honest if we take 18 points (5 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats), I think we would still be in the mix. As a run of games they involve some real tests. It would be a very optimistic fan who says we can equal the 20-23 we will end up with from the first 10 games.....but hey, ya never know  :)

After the Southampton game I just can't predict anything. I genuinely thought we would bag the win and we ended up losing.

Just hope we give arsenal a good F***ing game and get stuck in.

Arsenals is far worse, in fact apart from the scum all the traditional 'big' teams have a tough run of fixtures before new year.

still think we will manage a 2 point per game avg over the next 10 games and I wouldn't be surprised to better that.Remember we have a week to prepare for each game.

Its more about WHO you beat than the amount of points you take. i.e, beating Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham is far more important than beating any other three. Those are virtual "6 point" games since they are all potential title contenders/CL spot contenders! The 3 points you win+the three they dont mean a lot

With our deadly duo upfront there's absolutely NO reason why we can't score goals and more goals in ALL of the next 10 games !!..It's whether we can defend and stand tall against some of those teams goalscorer's ..
Last seasons visit to Arsenal was looking pretty good until Reina bolloxed the whole thing up... likewise with the game at Man city , Reina knackered that one as well..lost us 4 out of a possible 6 points....and we scared the sh*t out of Chelsea at the Bridge !!
We're playing well and long may it last...we're knocking the ball about lovely at the moment , creating chances , scoring great goals..
Give Arsenal a decent game and who knows?...keep our feet on the ground, protect our little Brazilian and allow BR to do his job and it will be other teams worrying about US as opposed to us worrying about them !!..
Like I said though...our back line needs to just tighten up and dig in..
Easy enough to say I know... but I wanna go into those 2 games over Chrimbo Top of the League !!
      LETS DO IT !!!

If we are still in the top four after we've played Chelsea on the 29th December I'll be very excited.

For now though, and I really am a 'glass half full' type of guy, I find it hard to believe that the reason we are where we are right now isn't mostly down to the fixture list we were dealt.

      Everton (h) 3pts
      Newcastle (h) 3pts
      Villa (a) 3pts

      Swansea (a) 1pt
      Sunderland (h) 3pts

On paper, the table could shape up to look something like this come January

      42pts Arsenal
      42pts Manchester United
      41pts Chelsea
      39pts Manchester City
      38pts Liverpool
      35pts Spurs
      32pts Everton

I do however expect Chelsea, City, and United to drop silly points in those must win games.

If you're going to put Everton in there, then Southampton should be there as well.

      I reckon:

      Southampton:
      Arsenal (a) 0pt
      Chelsea (a) 0pt
      Villa (h) 3pts
      Man City (h) 1pt
      Newcastle (a) 1pt
      Spurs (h) 1pt
      Cardiff (a) 3pts
      Everton (a) 1pt

      Therefore

      42pts Arsenal
      42pts Manchester United
      41pts Chelsea
      39pts Manchester City
      38pts Liverpool
      35pts Spurs
      32pts Southampton
      32pts Everton

Would anyone take that table come 1st of Jan?

      Southampton:
      Arsenal (a) 0pt
      Chelsea (a) 0pt
      Villa (h) 3pts
      Man City (h) 1pt
      Newcastle (a) 1pt
      Spurs (h) 1pt
      Cardiff (a) 3pts
      Everton (a) 1pt

Looking at those fixtures, Southampton could do some serious damage to the league.  It wouldn't surprise me if they took far more points than you're giving them credit for.
