      Your Favourite Memories Against...Tottenham
      Dec 13, 2013 12:12:45 am
Those of a certain age will remember some of our great goals against Spurs. Terry Mc's goal of the season in 1980, the 7-0 78, the League Cup victory in 82, the 6-2 win in 93 when Spurs were managed (caretaking) by former Reds player and coach Doug Livermore. More recently, we've had Rafa's first game in English football against them and Sami Hyypia's final game in English football against them and that's where my favourite memory against Spurs comes from.

Fantastic send off for quite possibly the greatest foreigner to ever wear the famous Red of Liverpool.

I remember Sami's send off perfectly.

      The Kop singing his name
Rafa toying with the crowd by holding off on his substitution.
      Sami almost scoring
      Then tears

Absolute legend, I love our big Finn

      And what a bargain!

Has to be 77 for me. Never forget the saves one on one that Clemence made as well as the goals we scored. Think he made 3 at least. And wasn't Barry Daines the spuds keeper awarded motm due to the terrific saves he made.  It could quite easily have been  12 - 0 if it wasn't for him. And Terry macs goal for No7 has to be the best goal of all time for me. Certainly the most clinical end to end goal I've seen in my lifetime. Was a privilege to be on the Kop that day. Think that took us to 62 years since spuds had won at Anfield or something like that. Always tried to make the spuds game. Memories, oh memories.

Has to be the 7-0 thrashing of Spurs for me too. I was in the kop that day and was worried about the Argentine "superstars " Spurs had signed. Not for long though :)

Emlyn went off early injured (very, very rare) and we just continued to rip them apart. That's about all I can really remember about the game apart from Terry Mac's goal.

BTW it was in 1978 not '77 because Spurs signed Villa and Ardeles after the '78 world cup final.

Spot on as usual s@int it was '78 after the Argentina World Cup
Mario Kempes & co with the ticker tape was amazing

I too was filled with trepidation at the thought of facing World Cup Winners!!!!

This was my 1st ever game at Anfield as a 12 year old to say it left
a bit of a lasting impression would be a bit of an understatement.

Terry Mac's goal is my personal favourite of all time at home

      Happy Happy Days..

winning 2-1 at the Lane. First visit as well, Molby equalised, Rush scored in the 108th minute I think. We won the league from that point onwards....we always used to do well there, and it was never easy....

Easy. 1971, ten years old; my first ever Reds game. A nil-nil draw at Anfield... and I was hooked. No other Spurs game has even come close.  8)

It was  '78' mate like s@int said , I remember it only from TV or DVDs but was memorable for Terry Macs brilliant goal, there was only 3 or 4 passes before Terry mac had ran the length of the pitch to header home, f***in superb,

Love watching the old footage , always brings a smile .

some incredible passes for that goal non of them short and meaningless.
They where our "bitches" at Anfield for 50 odd years or so it was one of the games to go to for entertainment but always a win. A remember a 6th round FA cup tie at Anfield when Klinnsman scored and although we lost they were fantastic that day and we showed our appreciation.

I was there, Blistering hot day, back of the Annie Road, Spurs just bought those two Argies just after the 1978 World Cup. (Not 1977 as clip is titled.)

It would have to be in the 1960s and we were playing Spurs at Anfield,,Spurs were beating us 2-0 at half time.I am going from memory now but I am sure Willie Stevenson scored within minutes of the start of the second half,we went on to win 5-2 and the crowd went home happy

I hated the Kemlyn it was built for people no bigger than 4ft.But I do remember that day from about25 people back in the Kop in line with the 18 yard box on the right always my favourite. To be fair though given all that has gone today is very very special
