As ever Americans do it bigger and better is all that is being described, no undue criticism an acknowledge statement of fact - the US has the highest obesity levels per capita in the world.

I thought that some Polynesian isalnds had the US beat. Fiji or Samoa or something like that. Big lads there. And girls.

Yup some tiny island in the Pacific called Nauru. In fact mexico has overtaken the States now for obesity rates.

Mind you we are not far behind!

How tiny is it? I wonder if they're concerned about sinking?

They are in the minority, for obvious reasons the vast majority of the inhabitants of those islands have less meat on them than a butchers pencil.

The financial details were not disclosed. Such deals are very small. Typically these deals are worh less than £5m across three to five years.

I think this is the most bonkers project I've yet seen. 99.9% of Indians are only interested in Cricket. Of all the countries we could have chosen for this, anywhere on the sub continent seems a total non-starter. Children don't grow up wanting to be Suarez, they grow up wanting to be Tendulkar who alone has close to a billion fans. If it works, great but as someone who follows Cricket as well as Football, I simply cannot see this having any noticeable impact on our global fan base.

      This is bullshit. :D
You obviously don't know but football is huge in India, and I'm not talking only about the big cities. There are  many LFC-crazy fans here.

Even otherwise, as long as the club gets money from the sponsorship, who cares? ;-)

      P.S. 0.1% would still be 1.2 million, we're that huge a population. :P
