I think the half time result could give us a great insight into what the full time result could be. In our 10 home games this season we've been winning 9 at half time and drawing 1 of them. The game we was drawing we ended up losing but we took all 3 points in the other 9. We've also scored 18 and conceded 0.

We've also not lost a game when we've scored 2 or more goals so get them on the board before half time and there's no coming back for Villa  ;D

Apparently we have the second best home defensive record in the league.  :f_doh:

IIRC last season they beat us due to the numbers we committed forward (3-1), again we barely had a midfield and they found themselves in acres of space while we attempted to go cavalier at them. Please, no repeat lads!

      Mignolet
         Toure.   Skrtle.  Sakho
              Hendo Gerrard
         Sterling Coutinho Allen/Alberto
             Sturridge Suarez

Bench; Ward, Johnson, Lucas, Cissokho, Ibe Allen/Alberto, Aspas

I like this Billy. Also think we have to be more competitive in the middle of the park. Need to cut out the service to the opponents front line a bit more effectively. Can't just rely on scoring more goals than them, although I expect to with this line up. Glad to see Sissokho benched. Hasn't done enough for me, and still has a bit to do to be first choice, even with Enrique out. Going for a more conservative 3- 1 to us this time out. Just hope Skrtel doesn't give anything away with his exaggerated holding.

We've simply got to beat these no questions asked, these are the games that we have to win if we want to stay competitive for one of the top 4 places, I'm going for a 3-1 home win.

Yeah it gives a better balance with added strength in the middle, I agree that we need to stifle pending attacks,

benching Cissokho & particular Johnson may give the appropriate kick in the gonads that's required, thought Cissokho had a decent game last week but like you he just doesn't look like he can step up,

Of course it's only possible if Sakho & Allen are fit enough and even so I doubt Brendan would be so bold, anyhoo can't anything other than a convincing Reds win.

Evert game is must win now, we are good at home, have the SAS, we will probably concede a couple but I think we can outscore these 4-2

Really dislike late kick-offs, wake up all excited ready for the match, then I have to busy myself either watching other games or fiddling around with stuff around the house. Half 5 cant come quick enough, agree that we should score quite a few today, looking for another Suarez hat-trick today and maybe one from Sturridge too :D

Certainly wouldn't surprise me. Not sure if it is his contract problems, his injury problems or his head is just not right, but his loss of form is becoming a real problem.

I wonder if true will Brendan slot Kelly in or will he revert to a back 3 ?

Wouldn't be surprised if Kelly starts, high time the lad was given a fair crack after coming back from injury. Hope Johnson does his homework like Hendo and Enrique, and comes back stronger, or just time to flog him off during summer

Apparently Glen missed training yesterday to attend court, appealing a driving ban.

Could be just the excuse Brendan needs to drop him then. Hope Kelly takes his chance if he comes in. Can't see us going to three at the back for this one to be honest.

Well, pissed off might be a bit strong - but given how we're fixed with FBs, I think the guy has potential and might have been able to do a job.
Would be pissed off alright if this was the end of the window and they'd just got him and we hadn't got anyone else. As long as we have other targets and get one.

That makes no sense. You're not pissed off that we haven't got him in on loan yet you would be if it was the end of the window and we hadn't signed anybody. Basically you want us to sign absolutely anybody just to say that we have done? Bertrand is an average full back, done absolutely F**k all to suggest that he is anything other than.

Should be winning this comfortably with a few goals shared around.

Nope, I don't want to sign just anyone, that's not what I said.
Whether or not he's any good - I've seen him play well previously for Chelsea - guess he'll get a chance now, we'll see.
