15 Fit Players.

So in BR's presser today he revealed that we only have 15 fit first-team players, shocking really, I know we have been really unlucky with injuries and have sent a few youngsters out on loan but unless any come back fit for Everton, we only have 4 fit defenders and 2 (3 if you count Alberto) centre-mids, which may almost force us to go with a similar formation to the Villa game, and we all know how that panned out.

If we go in with that back 4 and only Gerrard and Henderson in midfield, I really fear the worst.

Altogether that makes a decent starting XI but my f**k why have we not added quality or depth when we are poised to claim a champions league spot? Even if we win this game I fear that at the end of the marathon, without having shored up a threadbare squad we are going to miss our targeted position once more.

We never had the squad to compete over a full season that was obvious last August, and that's even without playing in Europe. New signings in this window were always going to be essential to sustain the momentum in pushing for a top 4 finish. Yet here we are yet again a week to go in the window and about to lose our only legitimate target to a rival who jumped in with a last minute bid. It's beyond embarrassing at this stage and if we don't finish top 4 this season when 4th place is so up for grabs there has to be repercussions as this is not acceptable for us fans!

It seems like Enrique has been out forever! Looking forward to seeing him come back, defiantly a fresh face and a player who can actually defend and can get forward.

I heard him say about the 15 fit players, but also commented on being happy that Flanno was back when asked about Johnson. I also didn't hear him say Allen was out when the question regarding Lucas's absence was asked.

So what's the crack from what I got both Allen and Flanno would be up for selection against Bournemouth?

It was an interesting interview in terms of Johnson, who it seems has clearly being carry a knock that was allowing him to get through games so to speak but not play his normal game.

doesnt matter that 3 players are coming back from injuries.  This highlights again just how thin our squad is.  At least right now we can do something about it through transfers.

Imagine those 3 come back but we suffer more injuries again... this time we have no chance to find new players that are XI ready... I really fear for our top 4 chances then.

Not to worry, out of them 15 players Cissokho, Alberto, Moses and Aspas make such an impact its more like 25 fit players.

I know you're joking, but could you stop calling him that, whatever your opinion of him, he remains a Liverpool player.

Not saying we can't criticise players, but constantly taking the piss or insulting them is just tiring.

As for the injury issue, it's been the same story since at least Rafa's days. Always had us a great first XI, then the quality dropped so sharply we always struggled once the injuries racked up.

Shame we didn't sign the Egyptian Messi 

Me thinks it's a bit of a ploy on Brendans part, we probably do have 15 fully fit players, and a few others who COULD play if needed. Hopefully it gets its desired results.
