He'll want a 2-3 year contract, I think he can do the job for 1 season and a back up for 2nd year.

I may very well be alone and will probably get a lot of stick for this but I think there may well be some merit in signing him.

I actually agree with you in the main about him as a person but on a purely football level I see some merit here.

Its a maybe for me. He actually looked fairly decent in the few games he played recently. He's a bit of a tw*t, but if the wages were right, and Rodgers wants him, worth a punt.

We thought that about Toure Res.  I'd prefer to be looking at fixing that position for the next 5-10 years rather than a very short term, expensive option.

Average during his prime? Far from it. I agree with the first 2 words of your post but he still is a quality player. He also has an abundance of champions league experience which cannot be said for many of our squad. I'd personally prefer we signed someone who is less of a hateful c*nt but from a purely footballing point of view I would be happy to see him here.

Given his age I reckon he'll go to whoever offers him the most money, ie Monaco or Man City
