Don't know if this merits a new thread (if not please move it to the appropriate thread)
       But this table is interesting

Liverpool earned more money than Man City from the Premier League this season

not really understanding what the columns merit pay and facility fees are.

after reading the article... it seems like we were broadcasted live the most time and therefore we got most pay... so going on that, I would guess that facility fees might be broadcaster payment to lfc for filming on field. merit pay seems like it is tied to the league position of the team

      anyone know for certain?

Merit = final league position. Facility = the amount of games broadcast domestically.

Our new year run in and consecutive wins bumped us up I'd say. With success comes coin.

Even that tan bloke must be laughin, 62,000,000 and then parachute payments on top.

28 games at almost £750,000 each I think.

Think we were on 3 times more than them = £2.25M.  They won £1.2M by finishing a place higher than us.

Think we recorded the biggest rise season on season of about £42M.  Throw on to that about £10M in sponsorship bonuses for Champions League, another minimum of £30M for Champions League and there is going to be a sizeable increase in money.

All this dough will be spread across two financial years though.

Look back at accounts till end of May 2013

      Income

Turnover - £206M (think we can expect this to be pushing around £250M)

      Expenses

Staff - £130M (can't see there having been much change over the past 12 months)
      Further expenses - £50M
Costs related to players - £60M (surely this has to be less over the last 12 months after missing out on a sizeable deal in January)

      Total loss last year £50M.

I'd imagine if we didn't do any deals by the end of May we would be about to post some kind of profit or at least a small loss, so in the interests of FFP, where you can overspend a little bit, you can understand the desire to try and do some business before the end of May.
