Was talking to someone who described Lambert as a poor mans Andy Carroll.

Have to admit I would rather have Carroll sitting on the bench but that ship has sailed

It is still nice to have another recognised forward and we will need him

      Lambert a poor man's Carroll?

I actually own two hammers Saint...one I bought myself a long time ago (very cheap, bargain bin hammer) and the other is an Estwing that I just recently bought because I wanted a "nice" hammer.

Truth is....the cheap hammer works just as good as the "nice" one and truth be told....I use it more because I'd rather wear it out than my "expensive" one
Get yourself a paslode nailer , it takes all the hard work out of it , the only draw back is that you're fu**ed when you run out of gas .

It's because of his age he's cheap so don't get too carried away. As a striker I'd be surprised if he's not retired in a couple of years. I'm not sold on this signing. As a Champions League team we should be signing quality players around 24 years old. This is just a cheap signing so after the world cup,  when a striker for France or Italy etc... Make a name for themselves in Brazil but cost 30m... We'll say we don't need a striker anymore.  It's actually  panic buying before the world cup to actually save money this window, otherwise there will be pressure to buy a world cup star. He's not a lot different from Robbie Keane or Andy Carroll. . Those kind of strikers don't work. I doubt Lambert will get ahead of Sturridge or Rooney in the world cup but if he does I don't see an aging player doing well in a hot climate against younger players that are used to warmer weather, it will be similar in the Champions League in some games also. If Walcott was fit Lambert wouldn't be going to Brazil. If we attempted to buy Walcott I'd understand that. Who next? Bobby Zamora?  As much as I don't rate Borini, he's still our player so this doesn't make sense as atleast Borini will improve. We are buying a player that had a late peak and that peak is probably almost up so Southampton are cashing in. If Real Madrid or Barcelona were cashing in on a 31 year old I wouldn't be so worried... this is Southampton.. we should be signing Lallana not Lambert. There not exactly littered with world class players. They have a few players that can play for better clubs and this isn't one we should be interested in.

Stop talking out of your sh*t hole, Lambert will give his all.  Bit part player or whatever, panic buy, ff's lad go w*nk yourself with one finger up your arse ,
Only enjoyment you may get all summer,
Forget Engerlund we are LIVERPOOL,whatever happens at Brazil has no reference to our season coming up , Brendan believes he can & will do a job and that's good enough for little old me,
He offers a different approach both on the floor or in the air giving us different options up front,

Pull your head out of your arse and look at the bigger picture, Lambert is not our key signing just another attacking option, cheap but effective, shrewd management if I may say so,

This is a win win situation for us , We've been banging on all season about the lack of depth with Aspas and Moses , now we have a right decent player in Lambert and with the experience Borini has got at Sunderland the squad is much stronger . It gives Rodgers plenty of £ more to sign the defenders we so badly need .

Lad has banged in 23 goals this season, just imagine Danny or Luis getting injured at the World Cup, we would have a player in Lambert who would fill that void.

Ignore him, he seems like a complete dimwit with what he's posting. Going out and spending £20+ million on a 24 year old 3rd choice striker isn't good business as anyone with half a brain knows.

      Made up with the move.

Can't see a problem with it. 4m pounds for a very capable back up Striker who consistently scores goals, is a big target man, will give us the opportunity to rest Luis every now and again during matches and free kick specialist to add to Luis and Stevie.

How could we go wrong with this? Our next Gary Mac, maybe?

Really good signing at a great price.
To me there are only positives with this one.
John Aldridge and Gary Mac all rolled into one.
      Perfect at the price.
Great start to the transfer window.

Agree.  There is nothing about this one that is wrong.  Scored 1 in 3 last year, has a great attitude and is not overpriced.

23 is the aggregate of his goals and assists. :)

You remind me so much of Corballyred Fed. I know you're not him but the way you bi*ch and moan about almost every signing we make or player we are linked with is classic Corbs.

Tell the truth. You are only going to be if happy if we sign Diame and if we don't every player is sh*te.

      Rickie F***ing Lambert.

So this is Rodgers' replacement for Suarez.

Can you imagine if that actually happened?  :o

Atleast my opinion was clean. You are no doubt the most foul mouthed poster I've come across. England and Liverpool are two different teams yes... but some Liverpool fans support England too,.. and you could see 8 Liverpool players all playing for England this summer... Sterling, Sturridge, Lambert, Gerrard, Henderson, Johnson if we sign Lallana that is 7, If Flanagan is called up from stand bye that is 8.. It's a bad time to be a Liverpool fan and England hater right?

I do honestly rate Lambert but I just think he is a bit older than what we should be going for. If we land Lallana it could work out well. He's not over priced... but if we just get Lambert only I'll be disappointed. Seriously, stop hating and keep it clean.

What difference does that make to how good Lambert is?

Oh, was Suarez not good Business when he was brought for 22m at 24 years old? A champions league club has plenty of games for 3 world class strikers, You're the dimwit. I'm not totally against this signing if we add more quality upfront. This can't be our only improvement going forward. This is my only main concern. We have a good attack but the extra games we need the depth to go with that.
