Doubt Suarez will score as many as Sanchez in 88 games.  Team is built around Messi. He scored so many at Liverpool because we built around Suarez. Selling Sanchez for 35m then paying over double for a player with almost the same qualities with massive history of baggage and 2 years older? I honestly don't think selling Sanchez and buying Suarez was wise. They're certainly not going to get anything out of Suarez for 4 months and who knows how mobile Neymar will be in that time. Worst business I've seen in a looooong time.   I just wonder what Barcelona fans think.

I should think when they read that a hugely respected and knowledgeable Liverpool fan such as yourself thinks that they've f*cked up by swapping Sanchez for Suarez they are going to be very concerned indeed. Numpties like me think that Sanchez isn't in the same stratosphere as Suarez and they've got a bargain, but that won't provide any comfort I'm sure.

So he fell in love with the club and city so much that he decided to leave it and join another one  xxxxx:action-smiley-065:

Give him some credit, mate, at least it was handled properly. No tantrums, no strikes, no talking to the media behind the club's back. Just a simple request to be allowed to leave if we receive the money on his buyout clause. If only all transfers were as amicable.

When I see him scoring for us in the red shirt, to see that mile wide toothy grin, and to think he's gone to Barca, I'm not gutted.

      I'm actually F***ing devastated

Good luck to Luis and his ladies, I sincerely hope he finds what he's looking for, as long as he doesn't get it against us.

I hope we face Barca next season now and he is given the send off he deserves.

Gave everything for the club when he wore the shirt. Genius of a player.

No grudge from me, no bitterness, no jealousy, no saying barca are mugs and so on.

Deserve your dream move now go and tear it up in Spain.

      Thanks Luis, YNWA.

The King is dead long live the king. No need for any one to be depressed we still have one of the best managers in the world, I'm sure he has been planning for this day for a while.

Telegraph reporting he went for full exit clause of £75mil, well done negotiating team if that's the case, after the latest bite I felt we wouldn't get close to that figure

      Was raging when Torres left.
Haven't been this sad since Xabi's departure.

Good luck Luis. You made us dream.

If you wouldn't do the same you're lying

Good luck Luis, thanks for the good times
Really? I think it's for his own ego more than anything.

Not that I'm particularly arsed about his departure other than the fact that we'll be significantly weakened by it.

I believe this.. I don't think we would sanction less.

However a mate of mine who lives in Spain just text me to say the Catalan press are saying 57 million

Dutch media reporting 94 million euro, which would be about 75 million pounds.

The figures of Suárez cost: clause was €100 milion.  FCB paid €81.

To be fair if those figures are correct Ayre did a wonderful job. Barca wanted 20million off his price, Ayre finally battled them down to only 19million off his price. Way to go Ian!

If McManaman and Owen, two players who grew up at Anfield, were seduced by one of Spain's big two then there's no surprise a South American is going to want to take the chance to go there.

Good luck, Luis. You were a joy to watch. But you were still a c**t wanting to go to Arsenal last season. The biting sh*t I didn't mind so much.

Whilst I am devastated, the devastation is different to that of Torres. With Torres, I genuinely didn't expect it to happen but with Luis, I got use to the thought. Still doesn't make it much easier.

Best of luck you mad man, thanks so much for everything!

Good luck in your career Luis just not against us in the CL this season. ;)

I reckopn we got the exit clause but that it will be in installments with most up front, I think that's what may be causing some confusion here. It makes no sense why it would have been below the release clause, we were under no pressure to sell.

Anyway on one hand I'm sad to see him leave but it was maybe inevitable, on the other hand I think it was the right time to get rid as I think we'll unfortunately see more injuries for him plus he will flip out again, its just a matter of time, and next time it might be a lifetime ban.

Anyway farewell Luis you crazy mofo, you go with my eternal thanks for some fantastic goals and football and for putting Liverpool back into the top 4, now we just need to stay there, which I think we will.

Guess we really held out for straight cash, probably Barca did the same for Sanchez.

So once the latter was done, the former was also done
