This boy looks the real deal. I would be happy with this signing, seems Brendan's sort of player.

I posted a link to Icardi in the transfer gossip thread yesterday but there was no price mentioned. He's a very good prospect but £28 million you're having a larf.

Whats the matter with 28m? top strikers cost money you know  Cheeky offer of 20m will do  ;D

So Icardi is a top striker? I think not.

For £28 million you want an established, experienced top striker, not an up and coming player. We don't need any more inexperienced up and comers, we need established talent.

Looks a lot like Borini before he came to Liverpool.

I've followed him since he first made the move to samp from barca, and I've got to say anywhere near 28m would be far too great a risk imho. He'd be worth a shot at half that, but his attitude is questionable, he's prone to scoring droughts and, as stated above, went out of his way to make public the fact that he ploughed his friend's wife.

£28m has to be a joke. Quality young player though if his time at Sampdoria has been continued. Haven't followed him at Inter.

28 m is a bit over the top but definitelly has huge potential and is one of future WC. Would love to see him here...

From what iv read and heard I think this one will happen. Don't care about the price as long as we get someone quality in. He looks good, would be happy out. Prefer him over a lot of other touted strikers.

Is he "quality" though? I've seen next to nothing of him but 11 in 33 and 9 in 22 don't fill me with excitement when we're talking of a potential £28m transfer.

Yeah but as players breakthrough they never have the stats that they generally finish with. For instance to compare with Messi when he was around the same age had stats of:

      17 games 6 goals
      26 games 14 goals
      28 games 10 goals

Of course I'm not trying to compare him directly but the trend generally does factor upwards for these promising youngsters and having the ability to score at 1 in 3 or 1 in 2 at such a young age usually means you're capable of even better. Also have to take into account the number of goals the team as a whole scores/creates, Inter in those seasons only scored 55 and 62.

Now I do agree that £28m you want something pretty guaranteed but considering we've lost out on our main target and second target I think this kind of signing is now what we're destined for. I haven't actually seen virtually any of the lad play so I'm purely going off the stats and also factoring that the likelihood is that Borini is on his way for £14m.

First vid I've seen of him. Like that he seems good with both feet, right looks better than the left but happy to use both, of course youtube flatters players but for his age he looks strong, quick, can see why there would be interest there for sure.

Of all the strikers we have been linked with this one seems to make the most sense. Right age, versatile enough to play as a main striker or as a support player, isn't injury prone, and seemingly has his head on straight (unlike mad Mario). On paper, this looks the most likely player for us.
