      3 points!

Awesome result. 3 points for us in a weekend where United, City, Everton and Tottenham all drop points. P

5th in the table and we've had the hardest start out of any of the top teams.

Fantastic win, a very good debut from Balotelli, Moreno looks class, Raheem is no one season wonder and Lovren looks nailed on to be next Captain.

How many times did Skrtel do that last season? Following that logic Skrtel should have conceded 20 penalties last season.

Don't recall him pulling players back like that. And if he did he was better at hiding which is a skill in itself. Don't give a sh*t about shoulds either, no going to be grateful because we got the right decision nor am I going to moan if a wrong one goes our way.

So thrilled with that result and the performance. It was one hell of a challenge but we overcame it with flying colours. A much improved Spurs side from last season so the bar was raised higher making this victory as good, if not better, as our victories over them last season. In stark contrast to our first two matches we had options galore, dynamic play and good defensive play (especially in the second half). Fantastic stuff.

Any coincidence that Johnson isn't in the team? How has Manquillo done?

I think Manquillo has been fantastic today both attacking and defensively, Moreno the same.

Potentially £17m for those two is looking a steal and a half!

Couldn't be any prouder of the lads today, had a shaky start at the back but from then on they couldn't get a sniff in. It's a shame Markovic came on at that particular time because we were in the process of defending a lead and had change tactics from our usual all out attack. He defended well though.

Skrtel pulled on an opponent's shirt about twice a game for the entire season. Never seen somebody so lucky not to give away so many penalties :D

Difference was both players were going opposite directions and he turned back and tugged him. Blatant as F**k, nailed on, goodnight, God bless.

      All over ?
Great result, far better than my sceptical self expected. I need to regain the belief and expectancy of my youth.
Become a bit too reserved in my old age. Need to step it up a bit and get a bit more positive.
Spurs aren't crap by any current standard, they just got stuffed at home by a team who are building momentum for a massive push after a less than impressive tactical set up against city.
Looks like Brendan learned from that and got his head sorted again.
Horses for courses as they say, and a great 3 points today.

Maybe he was just good at hiding it? If you can pull someone's shirt discreetly you gotta recognize that for the skill it is...

(talking discreet as in from the ref's pov not the million cameras because that is the only person you really have to convince to make a call or not)

Spurs have had a harder start then us?

West Ham and QPR were the teams they've played? QPR weren't in the PL last season and West Ham finished 13th.

City had Newcastle and Stoke, both teams finished below any team we've played so far.

We've played Southampton, City and Tottenham. 3 top who were in the top 10 last season.

Plus we played two away from home while the others played 2 of their three at home.

We've had by far and away the toughest start out of the top 6 teams.

It was a joke, based on how awesome we are...  :f_whistle:

      Cracking performance!!

Had 3-0 but also had 4-0 and 5-0 for big money again, could have been a repeat if we'd buried a few of those huge chances, not going to moan though after last year :D

Delighted with that, thought we looked a threat whenever we wanted to and it's a nice change from the City game to be really struggling to choose MotM for great performances. Think I might just give it to Hendo, thought he was a rock in there for us today and started a few of our moves that lead to goals with brilliant work. Tenacious, good runs, nice confidence, but the same can be said about Raheem who was excellent for us all match, gutted for a few reasons that he didn't put away that run (fantasy football, bet, deserved it both team and individually).

Mig: Started like a bag of sh*te with the weak hands and then getting caught in no-mans land for one of their only real chances.
Moreno: What a performance! On the back of that mistake so pleased for the young lad's confidence, high hopes for this young lad.
Sakho: Probably our weakest player, thought he looked shaky and wanted to be going backwards far too often, was also at fault when Migs got caught. Some weak passing too, can see why he isn't starting at the moment.
Lovren: Think he did very well for the most part but still had the occasional moment that had you not quite convinced. He puts them behind him without a second thought though, I like that.
Gerrard: Shocking passing in the first half, better in the 2nd, nicely composed pen as we expect.
Hendo: MotM seemed to be everywhere breaking up their play and making great runs when we had possession, deserved a goal.
Allen: His best performance this season for us, still think he's the weak link in there though.
Sterling: What a talent, deserved an extra goal and think he's just going up and up, needs to pick Studge out more when he's making runs though.
Studge: Think he did a lot of work that went unrewarded today, I thought he did very well and his movement deserved better service and his all around game today deserved a goal.
Balotelli: Excellent, cracking performance, could have had 3 today but as Stevie just said in the interview, if he plays like that every game he could be the difference the work he put in was not expected from my perspective, loved it.

      Subs:

Can: Very good, great work for Raheem's big chance and was very solid.
Markovic: We'd backed off and he had nobody to link with really, did what he needed to so we could see the game out.
Enrique: Didn't have much to do but saw the game out like Markovic.

Brendan: Fantastic, got the tactics spot on and had the lads chomping at the bit, Spurs couldn't live with us at all, well in Boss!
