Probably the worst Dutch team in my life time.
We've seen better days for sure, but at the same time when you look at individual quality then my country's team should still top our group. So it's hard not to blame the manager. First Hiddink, now Blind. Not that Blind has ever been a succesful manager before, so his appointment is ridiculous in the first place. The team has played very one dimensional all of the qualification games, no tactical diversity or alternative tactics, just playing slow possession football and getting caught on the counter regularly, making naive defensive mistakes too. Blind even said we can't play different, that the team isn't capable of playing more direct result driven football. How can he say that after last summer's World Cup, he was even assistant that tournament. Even this game against Turkey, we loose 3-0 and some of the players and the manager were still talking about how the Dutch team were controlling the game and dominating. Yeah, 68% possession, but possession is so overrated if you don't convert possession into chances, and don't convert chances into goals. At the same time, Turkey showed fight, such a different mentality. Even in the 2nd half after being behind 2-0 there was no urgency from the Dutch players, like if they didn't care about losing out on the EC.
