A lot of positives to take from tonight.

      1.  We looked well organized and tight defensively for most of the game.  Certainly the best we've looked defensively all season!
      2.  Migs had some beautiful saves!!  Hopefully this can be a confidence boosting game for him.
      3.  A number of fringe players did great credit to themselves and really may have convinced the gaffer that they deserve more minutes in the league.  All of Toure, Lucas, Can, and Borini were brilliant and should have played themselves into contention for the Chelsea game.

Play like we did tonight against the plastic cu*ts and I think we'll be pleased with the result.

      Proud of the lads.  YNWA

      Well Done Lads
That was some effort against  RM
My ONLY disappointment was Allen , he made some really bad passes , giving it away
But all in all  great performance from our so called reserves
Can-Toure-Lucas were very good today, even Markovic was not bad

have to beat Ludogorets away   for a possible "2nd place final' with Basle at Anfield now

Our starting 3; Gerrard, Coutinho and Sterling played better as subs today

I'm not sure they added much when they came on to  be honest.

Thought Borini was better than Balo and Lambert, cause his movement is really good. BUT he cant beat a man with his back to goal. Hes a 6yard goal scorer and we cant create anything in those areas at the minute.

So now the defense looks better and the attack is horrendous - if only we could sort both out. Ha

Who plays Saturday though Two full backs are definitely our best options at present Kolo and Skyrtel did really well.
Lucas has to play as does Lallana.Sterling and Henderson  then Couthino and Borini which means I just left Gerrard out

Liverpool fans still there and still singing. Fair play.

Partially because they can't leave the stadium yet.

I don't think they offered anything to be fair.

Okay, Gerrard's laser guided passing seems more applicable when towards the end of the match when the opposition is more suspect, but he didn't offer anything in terms of the decent possession we had prior to him coming on.

Coutinho was alright, but again, nothing much superior to what we saw before.

And Sterling was detrimental when he came on - thought Markovic was far far better. Time to give Raheem a rest I think.

Only negative to take from this game is that we lost. So many positives!!

Thought Borini's goal should've stood. Ramos slipped :(

that was a good performance. some players have  given a good account of themselves. toure, borini, makovic and moreno did themselves proud. llalana had a good second half and a much much improved mignolet.  lucas also did well. we are hugely missing sturridge, those runs and goals will do wonders for our season. don't forget this madrid team has ronaldo, rodriguez, bale, modric, isco and benzema and apart from benzema, we kept the rest quiet.

think borini should start ahead of balo for now, toure ahead of lovren and  when sturridge is back, can see us playing much better.
we lost, not a good result, but very good performance

It was a good effort, but still question substitutions. BR took off players that performed really well and who could have made a difference.
For me - Lucas should have stayed on in front of defence, Gerrard should have replaced Allen and played further advanced.
Markovic should have stayed on, Sterling should have replaced Lallana.

OK we are still in competition but n ot enough was done by the gaffer to try to get the point. Have said it time and time again, I would rather have Gerrard for 60 minutes playing in an advanced attacking role. When he is in front of the defence, it's like having 10 men on the field.

Yea, didn't see him make contact in the replay. I blame the ref for the defeat :)

I'd probably leave Coutinho out,  purely because his best appearances have come from the bench so far this season. Although I think you can make just as good a case for both Gerrard and Henderson who have been poor in recent weeks.

If you ask me BR got his starting 11 spot on tonight. The "Best" starting 11 have done nothing of late to deserve a start on the big stage and their workrate of late has sucked. I would go as far as to say that we would of lost by more had the same 11 started that started against Newcastle.

You need to earn that Jersey!

Maybe bring in Coutinho for Allen - apart from that, a lot to be build on and far more encouraging than everyone else who was left on the bench tonight.

Surprised to say this, but Henderson's got his work cut out. Many of tonights balls were controlled with one touch - he takes far too long to control the ball and by time he has, the opposition is back in position. Not good enough.

Fabio caught Ramos slightly, it was a foul. Very soft but a foul for me.

Can't for Flanno to come back as well. All Madrid did well was down Manquillo's flank. The kid has no clue where to put himself.

Only changes i would make on the weekend are Hendo for Allen and Sterling for Markovic.

They didn't in fact we were less of a goal threat because we went to the default of Stevie and his wunderball tactics.

Got a hint of that myself.

I think Brendan stroked this game off beforehand.

if we don't play with Lucas in a role that is his role then that's barmy. But then again what do we know.
All I know is if the team Brendan puts out plays with that much effort and heart at Anfield the crowd will respond to them.
