Because most the time he is non existent dosent score dosent assist not very quick and not a good tackler  passes mostly backwards or sideways apart from that fckin awsome.

Your right he needs to score more goals.

But not a good tackler! Rubbish look at his stats he is up there as one of our best tacklers. Along with Lucas and Henderson the midfield that destroyed Spurs last season, kept YaYa quiet last season at there ground when we should have won.

I have noticed once he gets injured he takes a while to get up to speed and he is now showing some decent form.

Is he a top class midfielders nope but we don't have any of those in our midfield and for what he does he is a good little player, who along with Lucas gives our jittery back 4 some protection.

I'm wondering if we'll see some rotation in this one. Lambert has started 3 straight matches in about a week, can he really do 4 matches in 10 days? Same thing with Lucas, who has been largely out of the side until the last 2 games.

I think we will see quite a few changes for this one.

                                  Mignolet

      Johnson            Skrtel      Lovren         Enrique

                             Can      Lucas

       Sterling               Gerrard               Lallana
                                   Lambert

Leicester have been a bogey team to Liverpool since the 60's and even though they are bottom of the table it wouldn't surprise me if we struggle again.

Can needs a start with Lallana please. However I was proved wrong on Saturday when I was horrified by the line-up.

Needs must. We need to get in the top half of the table and Leicester will not be easy for us, what is?

Kolo deserves to keep his place.

Same team as against Stoke, rotation can wait until Saturday more important we build on the understanding that these players gaining playing together.

Personally I think Lucas, Allen and Hendo are our first choice midfield, until Can shows he is ready to replace Lucas.

Lets keep it nice and tight. Need another 3 points, last weeks win didn't get us anywhere just stopped us dropping further behind.

Would rest Sterling for the next 2 and hope to god that Lallana or Markovic can do a job in his stead.

We need pace though and he is our only avenue of that.

Maybe build momentum and then rest him... yes thats settled... Sterling must start. Ha

Potential banana skin this game, cannot afford to slip up against Leicester if we are to make any progress. I have gone for a 2 1 win in the Prediction League, so fingers crossed for the right result.

Reckon every game is a potential banana skin at the moment :) Don't really feel confident going into any game. Not yet. We're still not scoring enough goals for that.

That's how I see things at the moment mate. I don't trust our defence enough to be confident that the goals we do score will be enough just yet, but another clean sheet would go some way towards changing that.

Love December footie.  No more having to wait a week for another match.  No international breaks.  We get to watch us play meaningful games sometimes three times in seven days.

      Love it.

This is the time of year that our squad players need to step up and show why they were brought to the club. Games coming thick and fast means players will need to be rotated. Time for the likes of Markovic, Lallana, Can, etc to step up and show their worth.

We have 8 games this month. Can we pull off 8 wins from 8? Probably not, but they are all winnable games and this would be the perfect time to make a run. Let's start tomorrow!!

Don't think it'll happen but I'd like to see:

      Mignolet

      Johnson
      Skrtel
      Toure
      Moreno

      Lucas
      Henderson
      Allen

      Lallana
      Sterling
      Lambert

Gerrard, Coutinho, Markovic & Borini all on the bench to potentially make a difference.

Would like to see Borini out there.
I want to see Lallana out there again. He has been playing well here and in international play so lets get him rolling a little bit.
Toure should play again, no reason not to in my opinion, he's defended well simple as that.
Maybe we will see Moreno back. Haven't really missed him.
If Stevie starts then he will be out there the entire game. Hopefully he comes on around 60 minutes instead of 70 something.

Overall I'm hoping we score at least 2. A convincing and non nail biting win would be nice eh?

Once again this is going to be a frustrating night for those who hanker after flowing football, poetry in motion and all that stuff. There'll be plenty of people "fuming" if Lallana doesn't start, and/or Markovic. There'll be lots of comparisons to watching paint dry, wondering why on earth Moreno isn't in, why Gerrard is, and all manner of other things.

The thing is though that once again we are probably going to play in a way which is completely and utterly alien to the way Brendan wants us to in the longer term. We'll be lumping it when pressed, not getting forward in any serious numbers, and even at times inviting Leicester onto us, "f*cking Leicester, this is an absolute disgrace FFS!".

The thing is though, Lallana is getting plenty of time to ponder how he was completely becalmed after a good start at Palace, Moreno to consider how to defend corners better than he did in Ludogretz. Markovic is getting time to rev himself up for his next opportunity, and in the meantime it's journeymen like Toure, Lucas and Lambert who are digging us out of the sh!t.

I take us to battle hard and to win very ugly tonight, 1-0. That'll do fine for me too, there'll be time for our pretty players to light up the stage later, in the meantime some of our hard workers have to build it.

Mick if the players don't or can't  play the way Brendan wants them to then surely he has to give them a kick up the arse. Then maybe just maybe they will get the message, if they don't it is time for them or Brendan to go after all he is the Boss.
We can ill afford to play the likes of Leicester and not get 3 points.

I agree mate, and I think as far as the likes of Lovren, Markovic, Lallana and Moreno this is precisely what he IS doing. One of the first things to go amongst fans in a bad run is rationality, the second is memory. I love Lallana as a player, but people have seemingly already forgotten his last appearance, similarly Moreno. Along with many others Lallana was outbattled and outfought at Palace. That's not good enough and he needs to sit on his @rse for a while to contemplate where he went wrong. Moreno came on as sub against Ludogretz and turned his back on a corner costing us the win. He's another player I like a lot, but he can have no complaints that the limited but more committed Enrique has taken his spot. Lovren I think is a future Liverpool captain, but Toure has done what he hasn't since coming into the team, namely keep a clean sheet. Lovren could I guess point out that we got the luck against Stoke which we didn't get in previous matches, perhaps arguing it was this rather than great defending which caused the clean sheet. That's a debate he can have with himself though while he's sitting on his @rse, alongside Markovic who can contemplate how he's going to bring his undoubted talent to bear in English football.

In the midst of all this contemplation, we have to get some points. It's at this point Billy that I think we have to accept that at the moment the players CAN'T play the way he wants them to play. The way the manager wants us to play requires quick interplay, sureness of touch and confidence. At the moment we haven't got that, so we are adapting.

I dont agree Mick we started to see signs of how we can play and Leicester is the ideal team to play now.

I think we will see more of the pass and move play we saw in the second half of the Stoke game. Hopefully more of the high pressing if we stick with the same midfield.
Only thing concerning would be Lucas legs, can he play so many games in a short space of time having been sitting on the bench all season. Can had better be prepared.

That second half was as good as we have played since the Spurs game against a side who are pretty good away from home and have beaten City at their own ground.

I hope you're right mate and I'm totally wrong. I think though that our pit is quite a deep one, and as such it'll take a while to climb out of. Should we concede a goal tonight early doors or even a gilt edged chance our confidence would take a significant knock. If we miss a sitter and it's the first chance we've made after 40 minutes, the shoulders will sag a little. That's why I'm not expecting too much, but I hope obviously you're right and we produce a performance out of the hat.
