Matt Miazga to Chelsea for around $5m. Holy sh*t. At 20, he was one of the best CBs in the league. He has a Polish passport through his parents so he won't have a work permit issue.

He'll spend the next 10 years out on loan at various clubs.

LA Galaxy have signed Nigel De Jong. Some team they could have despite their ages. Cole, De Jong, Gerrard, Dos Santos and Keane.

Chicago traded away Harry Shipp. One of only two bright spots last year. Local kid, grew up going to Fire matches, spent time in the academy, etc. It's devastating. He's a good player who had a bright future.

I was disappointed to see Chicago let him go. He is a good young player with the ability to grow with the Fire. He knew how to connect with the fans, since he is one.

Chicago could and should have been 1-0 up then after not even a minute.

This has been a really good game so far. NYC took the lead with a great finish by McNamara but CHI have just this minute equalised. NYC appear to be very open at the back and CHI are getting in behind them time after time.

If CHI can take their chances then this could be over by half time, no joke. NYC's defence is terrible.

Edit: Just as I finish typing this NYC take a 2-1 lead :D. The MLS is mental.

The ref in this game is a bottler. He's avoided giving Chicago penalties on 3 separate occasions now when all were legitimate claims. Not long after being denied their latest claim NYC go up the other end and make it 4-2.

I was at the game. It was a crazy game to watch. I am now a season ticket holder so I will be at most games. Hoping the Chicago Fire is better this year than last year.

They should have gotten something from the game yesterday for sure. They look like they'll be a lot better this year.

      NY Red Bulls 0-2 Toronto
      Chicago 3-4 NYCFC
      Orlando 2-2 Salt Lake
      Dallas 2-0 Philadelphia
      Houston 3-3 New England
      San Jose 1-0 Colorado
      Portland 2-1 Columbus
      Vancouver 2-3 Montreal
      Seattle 0-1 Kansas City
      Los Angeles 4-1 DC

Man, what a f**king crazy-ass opening weekend! Orlando coming back from 2-0 down to score twice in stoppage, 7 goals between NYC and Chicago, 3 goals apiece for Houston and New England. It's good to be back.

Don't normally follow this but Paul's drawn NYC in this months sweep at work.

Team with the most goals wins all, about £80 so he's off to a good start  ;D

Nice! Make sure he buys you something with those winnings

The Fire will be for sure! I'm a believer in Paunovic primarily because it seems like he has a clue, unlike Yallop and Klopas who were very laissez faire in terms of their tactics. Chicago needs to cut out the silly errors in the back though, but some of those looked like they were from a lack of familiarity with each other.

Chicago either got lucky or unlucky last night. They went 1-0 down but managed to pull it back to 1-1 soon after, Harrington got sent off on the half hour mark for Chicago but they somehow managed to hold onto the draw for a point. They deserved something from the first game so maybe the luck was being repaid this week for them.

I thought the Fire played well, actually, especially once going down to 10. A little bit lucky with Larin hitting the post and Orlando being denied a penalty in stoppage, but overall Chicago should be encouraged by that performance, considering they were without their starting striker in Gilberto and Cocis isn't 100 percent. They defended much better this week than last.

I think I'm turning into a bit of a Chicago fan mate :D Sky Sports need to get a grip with their coverage. it's basically most of the same teams from last week on TV this week.

Just about to tuck into some Real Salt Lake vs Seattle Sounders. Will be interesting to see if Seattle can survive without the goals of Martins.

      RSL's home record in 160 games: 98 wins, 22 losses, 40 draws.

      That's some record.
