Personally don't see there being any need for the players to talk to the media but then if players were treated with a bit more respect by the club then maybe they would be less inclined to.

Skrtel now the latest to publically slag off his employers over contract issues and we even had a 20yr old novice come out and talk publically about Liverpool.
should Brendan and the owners enforce a strict media blackout from all the playes unless its for a pre approved confernce/article etc to stop 2 thins
      1. making the club look bad
      2. making themselves look bad

failure to stick to this means a fine, for example dropped from the team or a weeks wages something as simple as that. it would mean getting them to all sign a declaration agreeing to this which is easier said than done but it must be atleast mentioned to the squad as whole becuase its a joke now

Skrtel has been absolute rubbish TBH. We should sell him

Maybe if FSG properly dealt with players contracts instead of f**king players around.....

      Maybe Raheem ain't that guilty!!!

This for me. Even the Sterling interview, obviously it was driven by his agent but if Brendan had kept stum on the contract offer and the 'fantastic offer' that the club had made him then maybe it wouldn't have taken place at all, who knows.

Unfortunately with all the social media these days there isn't really much of a place for a media blackout in the modern day. It's jus the way it is now.

I see it the other way round.
These guys are paid fortunes for playing a game, and should respect the club and their fans who are the ones who pay those wages.
If they don't like it, maybe they should F**k off and try earning a living in the real world.

I get a little fed up with all this "hard done by" sh*te that highly paid, spoiled rotten people who live in a bubble come out with every time they can't get their own way.

Yep let's sell the best central defender at the club currently and only other senior player who's been there longer than five minutes. Would have hated to seen our defence withourt Skrtel at the back last season.

Until Sakho and Can came into a back three, Skrtel was F***ing awful last season. Mignolet and Lovren took the sh*t but Skrtel was every bit as bad as them.

Disagree, Skrtel only one keeping our back-line together half the time.

Can should never, ever have been played in defence and playing him right-back towards end of season was an absolute disgrace.

      A) How does freedom of speech work within the corporate world again?

      B) They do!!

      C) Actually close to how Houllier used to manage the team, banned everything and wouldn't let the players have mobiles in the dressing room.

      A) Cos whether the corporate world likes it or not, you still have the right to moan about your employers or to let it be known that you aren't happy with the new contract they've offered you.

      B) Well exactly

      C) Enforcing a ban on mobiles in the dressing room is easy ( and makes sense). Enforcing a total ban on any kind of public utterances would be a nightmare.

Like I say, the manager has discretion to drop anybody who is seriously stirring sh*t ( which is what Brendan should have done with Sterling after his BBC interview for example), without having to issue total no-speaking-in-public bans on everybody.
