Heiko Walkenhorst, executive officer of Hoffenheim supporters' group Akademiker Fan Club

      Quote
If you look at the stats, Firmino is one of most agile players on the pitch - just look at his mileage. However, since he is an extraordinary player, we have been wrongfully expecting wonders from him here since football is, regardless of all individual class, a team sport.

His rate of good passes declined during the second half of the season which was due to him taking more risk than others and his team-mates not understanding or just not expecting the ball from him in certain situations. Just look how he is performing in the SeleƧao [Brazil national team]. It is not totally different but his dynamic interpretation of football is less of a problem in Dunga's squad than it was in [Hoffenheim manager] Markus Gisdol's in 2015.

Since we didn't manage to qualify even for next year's Europa League it is the right move for him. Whether he's physically strong enough - I am not sure. But is Angel di Maria? But he is willing and very eager to play a major part in the SeleƧao. He know what it takes and what is needed - just look at his progress the last year. He lost his braces and gained his international caps.

      Another major positive ....

"With all the injury problems regarding Liverpool's main striker Daniel Sturridge last season the fact Firmino featured in 33 of Hoffenheim's 34 league fixtures in each of the last three seasons should offer manager Brendan Rodgers some reassurance."

He might've meant that he knew what Torres was like before we signed him, with Suarez he looked great but I don't remember him having a big reputation at the time.

Took all of a few minutes once he came on against Stoke. Those that regularly watch European footy would of been aware of him at Ajax.

I'm sure that I saw a post here which questioned if he'd be tough enough for the Prem, but it's really not that much harder than the Bundesliga these days, plus if anyone watched the Brazil v Colombia match, he wasn't exactly a shrinking violet in that game, and it was a F***ing rough game.

He also looks to have the balance to ride tackles, and also looks to have quick feet.

      We'll see.

Not to mention Suarez's superb display at the World Cup a few months before. (And the Ghana handball. And the biting incident.)

The Ghana handball was the highlight of the 2010 World Cup. And I remember people getting all moralistic about it and calling him all kinds of names. The man kept alive the chance of his tiny country winning a World Cup - it was awesome and I'd have done the same.

Never understood why more players don't do it. It obviously worked.

      Every. Day. Of. The. Week.

If David Beckham did it there'd be a shrine of him out of the front of Wembley.

I agree. It's not even a talking point if Gyan buries the penalty. What Suarez did was a low percentage play.

It's going to be interesting watching those two partner up every week. Something tells me there will be a lot of number 11 shirts sold this summer.

All my Shirts I bought has had either Carra or Gerrard, so I'm at a total loss on what to put on the back of my shirt for this season :(

Just get Scouse Cafu on the back.
Covers a few bases that does.

Covers a lot of ground, puts in a shift, a few tackles and clearances.

      So basically a box-to-box forward?  :)
