Moreno very unlucky with these soft calls. Think he'll pick up some good form for us this season.

Good half from both sides that, easily our best test of the pre-season.

Lucas and Can have been very good, Firmino in snatches excellent and some encouraging play from Benteke.

Think Marko has had a complete 'mare, not looking good for him and I'm bitterly disappointed in the lad to be honest.

Moreno looking quite a threat on the left but as usual being exposed at the back in his absence.

Special mention to Vigouroux who has been excellent.

Also, would absolutely love to see Can starting at Stoke in our midfield. What a player we've got on our hands. Pace, strength, excellent tackling, aggression, vision, and the ability/willingness to have a go. Adds a dimension to our side that nobody else can. Similarities to what Yaya was/is to City.

Off-topic, but good for Arsenal beating Chelsea in the Charity Shield, 1-0. Would love to see the chavs fall flat on their face this year.

I hope we don't pull the "we don't want them playing against us" stunt.

Might of been a good idea with Vigouroux.

Yep, this is where I think Markovic should swap with Tex as he is better defensively and covers ground quicker. Tex needs to move into a #10 in a diamond and Lucas needs better cover which he will get if our box-box players are more disciplined.

Happy with what I'm seeing in attack, and always excited to see Firmino on the ball. Once they get their fitness and sharpness, I can see us being very strong in attack!

A bit pre-mature, but if he proves himself in the midfield this season, then absolutely. Think Emre's the type of midfielder that you would construct a team around, not Hendo or Milner who are just steady and get the job done (and well) as cogs in a machine.

Benteke offers a lot more to our play than Origi. No chance Divock starts for me.

Yep. Also form can't be determined over a sample size of one for each player.

Not even a question if you ask me. Can't really judge a player's form on a few preseason matches. If he's sharp enough fitness-wise, then he's got to be the starter. We've got to show confidence in him, that's what f*cked over so many of our players last season if you ask me - inconsistency within the lineups.

Benteke, while missing a sitter has shown much more than Origi and Ings combined for me in this half. Some excellent link up play, couple of poor choices in runs and staying too central early on would be slight negatives. Although with him clearly lacking match fitness he might be saving himself a touch.

Judging on what I've seen so far my XI for Stoke would be:

                               Vigouroux ( :D )
          Clyne      Skrtel              Sakho    Gomez
                                  Lucas
                          Milner         Coutinho
              Ibe                                      Firmino
                                Benteke

Yeah, must admit I feel a little harsh leaving Can out, but as you say Hendo is guaranteed to start instead of Lucas.
