Thought he looked nervy defensively, but improved as the game went on. His mistake cost us a goal, but he is young and will learn from it. Offensively, he is very good, and the more he plays, I can see him reaching exceptional standards.
This kid is special
Very, Clyne has a job on his hands to get back into the team..TAA is a starter for me.
Outside of worrying about the offsides on the goal I thought he defended well. Back to back games in which he had a mistake that was during a goal, but those things happen to young players. What doesn't usually happen is they play this good. He will make mistakes for sure, but I think he is the best RB we have on the team and with his love for our club and city perhaps a future captain if his play continues to evolve. That's probably going a bit far for now, so I'll just enjoy the win he helped contribute to and toast that free kick goal 🍻
Key to this lads game is to return him to the midfield which I believe is where he started from.I don't mind him benching Gini or Emre to be honest.I think that's where we'll get the best out of him.
Mentioned this in the match thread yesterday. I think he's the best passer in our current Starting XI. Seems to be a very classy passer of the ball and has the guts to make a key pass as well. With his defensive capabilities being better than what we've got as well, I think he could make a decent #6 type. Maybe a bit undersized for the role, but if his positioning and awareness in the midfield are up to scratch, I think he'd be an improvement on what we've got.Clyne's a steady performer at RB as well when fit, I think TAA could improve us elsewhere once Clyne gets back. If not, then he'll force a fight out of Clyne and maybe get the best out of him.
Absolutely nuts imo mate. He's looked so good with the ball because you often get time at right back to pick a pass. Not saying he's not technically very good (he is - and will only get better) but stick him in midfield and the first time he misplaces a pass under pressure you'll knock his confidence. Right back is arguably his best future position but I do agree it's great that it's an argument at all. We could well see him as a #6 in the long term but not yet. He is some talent, just think we need to ease him in for now. Very impressed with his delivery from set pieces v Watford and obviously great goal last night.
can't one of TAA or Clyne play on the left, would seem the logical solution to our problems and they must both be better than Milner in that role.
Again I will need to check his games with the Junior team, but like I earlier stated he started as a midfielder and not a right back.As per size I remember when Pep played a certain Sergio Busquets in the Barca midfield. I'm one for if he's good enough he should play regardless of age, size or experience. But then again I'm just a fotty enthusiast so cant argue with the professionals.I believe he's better or has a petential to be better than what we currently have in the midfield.Stick him there
