Think we'll win today - quite convincingly as well.

Even though we've been grim for quite some time.

Bloody hell JD. You've woken up on the right side of the bed.

Come on Brendan screw this 343 if your going down then go down fighting.

Lets see some attacking intent from the start.

343 can be as attacking as you want it or be. I don't get why do many automatically see it as defensive.

It's not traditionally been used as an attacking system for us though so I can see his point.

Both 'wingers' being former full backs in the system, our central midfielders again tend to be 'blockers' and in one instance of 3 up front we had Ings operating as a winger.

Two up front is the starting point for me.  Ings and Sturridge.  A healthy mix of attacking players and then play the 3 at the back.  I'd like to see Moreno and Clyne spend more time in the opponents half than ours.

I'd also start Bogdan.  Yes he could have done better for Carlisle's goal but he made less of a mess of that than Migs did AGAIN against Norwich last week.  Not to mention the fact his three saves effectively won the game for us.

And all those muppets spouting 'Hope we lose so BR gets the sack,' do one, go and support the chavs.  That's their mentality.

Whoever the boss is, support the players.

That's a lot of muppets judging by the people I've heard saying this!!

I've not done well at all on my predictions so far this season, I did predict a 1-0 win but I'm going to change it I think.

just can't remember a game at home where the game poll sees the loss & draw double the LIVERPOOL win vote
That's 2 out of 3 think we will not win at home vs AV
lets forget about Rodgers issues and back the team, especially those going to Anfield
the silence in the Calisle game was embarrassing, can understand the present situation and performances,  there was only the usual YNWA at the kick-off than nothing
hoping I am right this time around , so I voted a LIVERPOOL win (as always esp.when playing at home)

Lack of width has been one of our main issues this season, why you'd drop clyne for lallana is baffling... The rest of the team I like though. Although I'd like to see Gomez as part of a back 3 at some point and perhaps Can in for either Milner or Lucas in the middle.

#LFC have played Villa once before on Sep 26, winning 5-1 at Anfield in 1964 (Graham 3, Callaghan, Hunt). It's on!

Lets hope this brings the lads, the manager and the whole LFC some luck with a good performance

In a way I'm glad we've been sh*t in the last few weeks.  It wouldn't have felt right celebrating fantastic wins and exhilarating football whilst grieving the loss of my dad but I could do with something to make me smile again now.

I get the feeling though that I'll be relying on the rugby lads for that as I just can't see us turning this slump around anytime soon.

Because we don't have the wing backs to play that style although Moreno is more suited to a wingback role than full back!

We just end up as a 5 across the back which is so defensive and with Milner and Lucas in midfield it's no wonder we have a problem scoring goals.

If we were going to play 343 Rodgers should have bought players to play that system, this is just off the hoof to make us more secure in defence after the West Ham beating ie it's desperation.

I was listening to the legends on Radio City earlier today. We used to do the business but every now and again maybe 3 or 4 times a season we would actually maul teams. Villa used to be one of the teams we liked to put in their place wouldn't it be great if we could really do a job on Villa and put them to the sword with a couple of early goals followed by a second half collapse but I think it will be a 1-0 or a 1-1.

Not as confident today as I was against Norwich and Carlisle, Villa have a bit of pace upfront which we always seem to struggle with. Maybe Clyne will help us cope better.

If Brendan plays anything but 2 up front he deserves everything he has coming, if he plays two up top I think we will win this. Maybe not with flowing football but a steady performance should be more than enough to see off Villa.

I think Liverpool will surprise everyone by winning, scoring more than one goal and playing reasonable well.

Sorry mate, but I stand by my assessment. Things have gotten so bad under BR that I'm praying for a change. I never want us to lose, but it represents a means to an end right now. Kinda like the old saying it's always darkest just before the dawn.....

It goes without saying that I'd love us to thump them 5-0. I just have lost all faith in this team with BR at the helm.....

Not one to advocate a Liverpool loss to enhance the sacking of Brendan, however I do want to see the back of Brendan and bring forth a fresh start before our season is totally fu**ed altogether

Imo it's only a matter of time before the inevitable happens but while we're waiting for that eventuality I still want us to win,

My X1 against Villa would be thus....

                                Bogdan
                     Gomez Skrtel Sakho
               Clyne.                           Moreno
                          Milner Lucas
                Ings.   Coutinho.  Sturridge

      Brendan will probably go with....

                            Mignolet
            Clyne Skrtel Sakho Moreno
                       Can.   Milner
                Ibe.     Coutinho. Lallana
                         Sturridge.........
and hope not to lose.

The manager getting sacked or not, is not in our hands. As fans all we can do is support the team, and hope Brendan gets it right today and we start to play some nice football.
I can't imagine how anyone that wants us to lose to get rid of Brendan, will watch the match today, will the be cheering when Villa score then? Essentially that's what you'll be doing if you're willing us to lose!
