Yeah, I'd agree with that wholeheartedly mate.

      Incredibly frustrating and disappointing mate.

I watched the energy drain out of my 12yr old as we watched the game.

Rossiter looks useless in this game. He's literally done nothing.
Sorry i disagree, he is going about his game, breaking up play, putting in tackles, quietly and efficiently even the Fox commentator agree

      Let me guess.

'FC Sión are one of Switzerlands 10 best teams blah blah blah'

Piss poor tonight. What a waste of £300M on footballers.

Agreed, Rossiter was far from the worst player tonight. We have far bigger issues on (and especially off) the pitch right now. Disappointing.

Lalas? Funny, I didn't hear him say much about Rossiter at all. He quietly and efficiently didn't do much of anything except almost get Coutinho hurt.

Rossiter reminds me much more of Jay Spearing than Steven Gerrard. Won't pretend I've seen much of him in the youth teams because I haven't, but the guy hasn't really impressed me in the first team. Unfair to judge him based on the little I've seen though
      Then why are you ;D

300m lost on players, that's what FSG deseves for their bloody useless policies that is taking the club backwards from top to bottom. We have a manager that has already lost its way long ago.

I expect him to man up and tell it as it is! A turd is a turd, no matter how much you polish it. I know for a fact Kenny would have called it utter sh*te!

No he wouldn't have. Find me one quote from Kenny post match where he called out players and said they were crap.

Has anyone else noticed how hard Rodgers is trying not to say "Character" in his interviews?

      Everton
      Spurs
      Southampton
      Chelsea
      Palace
      Man City

Make or break list of fixtures could see him lose his job.

This started when you questioned whether it was his job to motivate the players.........when I said it was on him you said you didn't think the players weren't motivated.

      That's all.

I can't believe people are already pointing fingers at Rossiter. He's had barely any starts compared to the others, and he's still learning. I expected more out of the other players on the pitch, however.

I hope Rodgers do not start taking this competition seriously only when it is already too late, being it a competition we actually stand a chance of winning based on the quality of our squad - but not with that kind of attitude.

Won't anyone think of the co-efficients!!

Yeah, your 12yr old and me both. The way that match finished was so depressing, almost like mid-table worthless game and as was said in the thread that really does seem to reflect Brendan's approach to the competition as a whole.

While I agree it's there to blood the kids it shouldn't be treated with such disdain. It's possibly our best chance of securing a CL place for next year if I'm honest, although equally I do believe we haven't got a snowball's chance in hell of actually winning it.

Yes, my point was that they are professionals and as such shouldn't need "hand held" by their manager. Not that it wasn't BR's fault that we weren't winning (didn't win) the match.

And my other point which I stand by is that as a player, during a game you can find much more motivation from your home support than you would get from your manager standing on the sidelines barking tactical orders, that's all. Been there done that, it's my own experience and my own opinion, nothing more.

I'll give it to BR good attacking coach and a sh*te defensive coach. No one knows how to tackle, the constant change of formation and positions is doing my head in, god knows how the players truly feel about it.
fact: Ibe is not better or as good as ster.... in the 2nd half he looked so afraid, constantly passing sideways or backwards.

According to the boys at Sky sports, money spent on transfers puts us 5th, wage bill also 5th, based on the last few performances am not sure thats going to happen and so nervous for Sunday derby :-\

No, Kenny would have said it wasn't good enough but he'd have had class and dignity. I think what you are looking for out of Rodgers is something that most professional managers don't typically do (if they are to stay in their jobs very long) but yes, he shouldn't be window dressing this up as some sort of moral victory. He needs to say it's not good enough, but at this point....we all know that and he knows we all know it...which is why I'm not even remotely interested in what he has to say about this game.

At the end of the day, missed chances or not, it was overall, a lack lustre performance by a side (apart from 2) which Brendan bought and assembled to tactically play to his instruction.
One of the most consistently poor runs of games I think I can remember in over 50 years.
Nothing much more to say really.
