I also am worried we are changing our managers too often.

If Klopp doesn't last more than 3 years this will become the Job that nobody wants.

We have to start being realistic as fans.

Disagree in a way.  I'd say 3 and a half years is a very generous amount of time to display progression.

Hodgson should never have been appointed and Dalglish was effectively an interim appointment that lasted beyond a year because he steadied the ship so quickly.  Rodgers was given plenty of time, in fact some would say a few months too much.

If Klopp gets 3 years and hasn't succeeded then there will still be managers lining up to have a crack because that is relatively stable in this day and age - especially for (and we still are) a top club.

Brendan Rodgers failed, that's why he was sacked, Klopp won't, because I'm confident and optimistic for the first time that he would succeed with us

What is success to us though?

Are u really happy with us changing managers every 3 years?

We can talk about nostalgia and being a great club with a great history.

But facts remain, City and Chelsea have mega bucks. Arsenal and United are not far behind

We have the 5th highest revenue in the league. 5th highest wage bill.

Our owners want to buy young players.

5 years ago Most fans were fine with losing our manager who was a champions league winner after one bad season.
Now he's manager of Real Madrid.

This is a terrible road to go down.

I want to win the league but lets face it, we are the outsiders.

Personally im happy if we are challenging and playing good football.

I can accept that sometimes we may be in and out of the top 4.

As bizarre as it seems, 3 years is now a long time to manage a football club these days.

The Dortmund side that played in the Champions League final cost less than the total price that clubs had paid for Charlie Adam.

Be thankful that under Klopp this is certain not to happen.

Despite that being an ironically sentimental comment.

Changing managers over and over again, (without the mega rich owners to back it up) has never brought any club success.

Maybe but I can guarantee if after 3 season Jürgen hasn't won anything we'll be looking for a change again.

Exactly this. We need to manage expectations. That doesn't mean having no ambition but it means being realistic.

Dortmund couldnt maintain that success though.

Selling their best players and mega rich competition in the league makes it tough.

I think 3 seasons and 7 games is more than enough reason to relieve a manager of their duties. Especially if they've won nothing

Not a dig at Rodgers - just saying you can sack a manager every 3 full seasons and it's also expected in certain circumstances

As long as we are being competetive and in the final mix then I dont think that would be the case.

He does to a point. But Liverpool think they are a big club, but they're not? He's been listening to Gary Neville too much...

how on earth is that a good thing?

All depends if there is progression and a basis to give the manager more time. Look at Rodgers legacy what foundations has he laid what style did he imprint on the team, it was all muddled and confused thinking, playing it off the cuff. Absolute nothing to pin your hat on some hope for the future.

Did you not hear what Klopp said its not all about money! By your reckoning United should have walked the league in the last two years with the amount of money they have spent. Its not that simple.

      I can't and doubt I ever will.

Liverpool and Man United are the two biggest clubs in the country - both of those sides should be competitive irrespective of Russian or Middle Eastern billionaires.  I cannot fathom anybody I know watching LFC finishing 5th or below and going 'Yeah, that'll do.'
